  1. what you've done so far is gona be an improvement, a nice fresh cut seat would be nice but if the budget won't allow it then it'll have to do. how did the bike run before you pulled the head off ? ive seen worse exhaust seats before and the motor ran fine. i know what its like working too a tight budget
  2. imo the valve looks ok but the seat could do with a bit more, then finish off with the fine paste.
  3. im assuming you used the mk2 front sprocket cover with the speed sensor in it ? the problem their though is the output shaft isn't drilled for the pickup but it is possible to have it drilled, or think of a way to fix the pickup to the front sprocket.
  4. yeah fare enough, i like the old chrome Zed clocks as well but to my mine i think the Mk1 bandit clocks look more like em with them being 2 separate pieces.
  5. can i ask why you want to use mk2 clocks and not the better looking mk1's ?
  6. the parts diagram shows you put them in the right order, the steel plates have teeth on the inside that locate onto the inner basket and the pressure plate so they dont slide against the aluminium.
  7. you need to put a tuned oil cooled engine in it and then sell me the air cooled motor nice bike by the way.
  8. looks like its been down pretty hard on the left side
  9. no need as the rings are bedded to the bore.
  10. if its got both screws then yeah start at factory, you will end up screwing the air screw in and the fuel screw out.

    Strange jets

yeah ive seen that type of jet before years ago but not in a bandit carb !!! what carbs are on it ?
  12. you'll be able to sell them as brand new now
  13. just had a look at the 3 suzuki taps i have, 2 gsx ( gs ) ones ( one at 44mm and one at 50mm ) plus a 1200 bandit one. and the diaphragm's are all the same. looks like suzuki use the same type and size in a lot of their bikes.
  14. can you reroute the fuel pipe ? doesn't matter if its longer.
  15. find a tap with the outlet facing the way you want it and then just turn the vacuum plate to the position you need, its square so it can be repositioned
  16. 44mm hole spacing is normal for a lot of Suzuki's (some are 50mm) just get a tap off a gsx or something like. they are vacuum and have a reserve.
  17. their is a 01 to 04 in the part numbers on them which points to them being handed, unlike other suzuki's that have two rubbers that are the same.
  18. all I use is a very thin flat blade screwdriver, you have to bend a little tang back so it'll slid out.
  19. does your tap have 3 positions ? like quarter past, half past, quarter too ? or back, down, and forward. if that makes sense.
  20. yeah pretty strange but is no1 the same as say no2 ? or maybe one of the others ? sometimes works that way.
  21. a 1995 also has i think a gsxr swinger and a different oil cooler. no grab rails and i belive they might of been restricted.
  22. i know theirs not a lot of bandit lovers on here but they are starting to go up in price, especially good clean low mileage MK1's. the 95 ( some call pre production) bikes as i said are pretty rare. its a shame its in such a mess as it'll cost a few quid to restore unless you can do it on the cheap.
  23. what are your intensions for it ? could be worth a bit if its clean as they are thin on the ground !!!
