your making it sound like its a problem with cables ? i find that as the engine warms up it effects the free play at the clutch lever so i adjust it as im riding, to me thats part of owning/riding an old bike and part of the character of them, even using a choke lever. i like the mechanicals of them, a bit like the old brit bikes back when you had to adjust the timing and other stuff. modern bikes are boring where you just press a button and a fecking computer takes over.

well IMO their is a difference in feel or i wouldn't prefer them !!!!! and yeah cables can stretch but how hard is it to turn the adjuster screw at the lever ? and hydraulic systems can leak from the hose/banjo's/master cylinder seals and the slave cylinder seal !!!!!!!!!! i'll stick to cable.

Use a cable clutch.

ive no idea why they need this info for an engine change ? what if you've had an engine sitting in the corner of the shed for years and you get around to fitting it correctly and tell them the new numbers and size, most people on here don't need a mechanic and you haven't any proof of sale as you bought it of a mate, nobodys gona pay a shop are they ???

slow and steady, quite a bit of grunt in them old engines

if it was mine I'd just go with the Q plate, at the end of the day its just a letter !!!! the bike will still ride the same

the only time (as far as i know) you can swap over the frame number is if you are fitting a brand new OEM frame. done it twice in the past under warranty.

yeah the gs500 caliper is a bit smaller than your caliper.

the later calliper brackets are shorter than the older GS/GSX brackets as far as i know so the calliper will sit too low unless you fit a smaller disc. interesting bike though, can we see the full thing ?

theirs a good chance that a CDI of another model will work as suzuki are well known for sharing parts, but its a case of finding the right one !!!!!

i did one of my tanks with white vinegar and it did a good job, but within an hour or so i could see surface rust appearing.

i was thinking the same thing ? his looks like the one on my 1100 though that doesn't mean it'll work. but i wonder how different they all are ?

i think the trick would be to make sure the threads are all clean and the bolt secews in all the way easily by hand, then if it does snap you have half a chance of getting it out without drilling and the gods are on your side

check if you have 12v at one of the coil wires with the ignition on, if you don't then its a power suply problem. if you do then its an ignition problem. ( pulse coil/CDI )

thats one long fucking sentence !!!!!!
