  1. when i bought my 750 ET the arse end had already been cut of and a loop welded in as the P.O. was going for a different style, the loop was very close to the rear tyre so i cut it off. im in the process of putting it back to something like standard. this is it when i cut the loop off.
  2. bloody hell you've got me worried now, oh wait mines a bandit engine
  3. first thing is to get the carbs off and give em a good clean first, but make sure you bench test them before you refit them.
  4. my brain's just leaked out of my ears I hate numbers !!!
  5. I guess you mean the slingshot gsxr, yeah the engine will fit in no problem, you could probably fit the crap steel B6 swinger in with little fuss but it would be better to get an ally swinger, it would look better. the stem on the bandit is too long so you would need a shorter gsxr one if you can find one ? or buy a gsxr bottom yoke and press the stem out, be aware some B6 stems are welded in so can't be pressed out. anything is possible with a bit of work but money is your enemy as things mount up !!!!!!!!
  6. back on track, ive always used copper grease but now i believe their is something better for the job.
  7. i know what you mean, i didn't like em either and also the ET's. now i have one funny how taste's change.
  8. high pitch vibration, the grease on the back and edges dampens it
  9. I had a big debate with an arsehole (who was on here at one point) on another forum about greasing the back of pads, ive been doing it for over 40 years with not one problem and most mechanics worldwide do it, plus the guys who maintain their own bikes. Suzuki used to sell brake grease but stopped selling it because it was just to expensive and no one bought it. their is also many brake disc/pad manufactures who sell it or recommend it (google it) use the right grease and dont put too much on and it'll be fine. thats all I'm gona say on the matter as i dont want to get into another argument about it again.
  10. they are anti squeal shims, i bin mine. never needed them in the old days
  11. i would of thought a gsxr1100 motor is plenty of power to put in an old gs750 frame
  12. as far as i can tell it looks like they only come on the 1980 model ??? which makes it even harder to find one unless something else will fit, i had a grabrail made out of stainless for one of my bike's, just give the guy a wire template and then my mate polished it up like chrome.
  13. just done a google search and only one pic came up with a grabrail, does yours have a mounting bracket under the tail unit ? the other mounting point is the top shock bolt. im afraid grabrails for the old suzuki's are like hens teeth to find, you might find a second hand one that'll probably need rechroming. i've been looking for one for my gsx750 but had no luck !!!! but mines not in bad condition.
  14. did the 550 come with a grab rail ? or do you mean the one on the left for lifting the bike up on its stand ?
  15. i think starting somewhere near stock and then experiment with other sprockets, fronts are pretty cheap, its what i do.
  16. you can't use the hanger in your hand if your not using a torque arm, you will need one that slots into the mount thats welded to the swinger.
  17. can i ask why you want to put F.I. on a 600 bandit ?

    info needed

have you measured the bore ? do they have a TPS or not ? from this angle they look similar to mk2 bandit !!!
  19. reminds me of my brother in law, many years ago he put 2 brake callipers in a bucket of caustic soda over night, you can guess what happened
  20. as your oil level gone up ? stick your nose in the oil filler cap and see if it has a strong smell of fuel, if it does it needs changing. maybe a fresh air filter wouldn't hurt either.
  21. you might need a bandit hanger but i don't know if your calliper hole spacing will be the same ? and don't rely on part numbers, just because they are different doesn't mean they wont fit. suzuki are known for parts interchanability
  22. yeah they are getting silly prices now !!! i did get a set last year with 8500 miles on them for £100
  23. why would somebody put 32mm carbs on a gsxr 1127 engine ???? they are fitted to inazuma 1200's but they arn't a race bike. 1200 bandit carbs will fit and more of them available second hand.
