you could try and wrap some tape round the filters just for a test and see if it runs better. it will confirm if its running lean.

if you are getting a pulse at the ign coils then it sounds like the pulse coil is sending a signal to the CDI and then on to the ignition coils !!!! have you tried new plugs ?

any body put a 16 valve 750 engine in a 1978 gs 750 frame ? i was just wondering about the engine mounts arangement.

problem with a full on resto is you don't want to ride it in case it rains and gets dirty

i think 3.5 turns out is generaly the max, its then down to the pilot jets.

the ET/EX came with 2 different size taps. one at the back of the tank is 50mm with no lever just a slot for a screw driver for PRI. one just above the number 1 carb is 44mm with a lever for ON/RES/PRI.

you have to find the right alt gear to match the clutch gear, but be careful as its easy to snap a gear if they are not lined up right.

bandit 600 forks and wheels are cheap enough and bigger than the GS forks, but the B6 forks are a bit on the soft side, can be sorted though.

i worked with a vietnam guy back in the 80's (one of the boat people) and he used silver foil out of his fag packet to fix it !!!!!!!!!! i kid you not i told him we use new shells but he wouldn't have it.

i put 32mm carbs on a 1200 bandit engine and their was a marked increase in bottom end and mid range, it pulled to 120 easy but i ran out of road but it still had more throttle left. (plus my fecked old body can't take any more than that) i reckon it would pull at least 130, probably more but im not arsed about doing a 140mph plus. round the lanes it was great hardly needed to change gear much, just so much better that the 36's for that kind of riding.
