Im sure their will be plenty of bikes that use the same size seals but its finding out which ones are the same ????? have you got a friendly bike shop you could take them too so they can compare ?
-
its a shame the bandit gets a bad press !!! it might not be the prettiest suzuki ever built but its defo not the ugliest. maybe they could of done a better job of the back end ? other than that I think they are good. they are a fun bike to ride/tour on and commute and all for little money and most of the time very reliable. but we have to remember that the bandit did a lot for Suzuki when they where struggling
-
yeah you can remove the whole mechanism but im pretty sure you have to split the crankcase. then maybe find some sort of plug for the hole in the clutch cover or weld it up.
-
as far as i know all the gsxr's are the same length as the gsx's, as to the gsxf im not sure ???

oil cooled, 1250 water cooled K7,

lol, it might help with my stiff neck we all like what we like wraith
-
yeah i know but i like to live dangerously

I think if the weld was ground flush then it should press out !!!!!! just looked at my GSX1100 yoke, the stem is pressed in to the ally bottom yoke !!!! maybe the 750's had a steel yoke with the stem welded in ??????
-
yeah ive seen people grind the weld off and press it out as long as it still has a lip. finding just a stem is quite hard but you could buy a GSXR (or similar) bottom yoke and press the stem out for the bandit yoke. could get expensive though
-
your not gona get any good response's on here about the bandit but to answer your question the MK1 & MK2 1200 bandits are pretty much the same, the only real difference is the shape of the frame and bodywork. yeah they have different carbs but both are 36mm and produce the same amount of power. Imo the MK1 is a better looking bike than any of the others but not many people on here will agree the bandit is a good looking bike
-
this any good ? SUZUKI CAM CAMSHAFT TIMING CHAIN GS1000 GS850 GS750 GS650G GS500 NEW DID | Eblag
-
you'll need to check if the GSX stem will press out and its not welded in, its pressed in on mine. all 1200 bandits are pressed in
-
lol, thats my dog face bombing !!!!! told him to get out of the way but he just ignored me yeah a 1200 bandit front end will go on with a bit of jiggery pokery !!! you'll need the bandit yokes but the stem is to long for the GSX frame. but you can press the GSX stem out and fit it in the bandit yokes then sort the lock stops out.

I was looking for ages for a set of disc's that would fit the bandit wheel and with a smaller offset but with the O.D of the GSX disc's !!!! i could then fit the standard callipers. but theirs nowt I could find apart for having some made at silly money so went with 600 bandit disc's that clear the fork legs (including the disc bobbins) i had to cut the GSX pads down a bit as they are to wide for the disc face where the pads sit. yeah a bit of a bodge but will at some point get a pair of B6 callipers. the standard GSX wheel spacers where machined out to take the 17mm bandit spindle and used a B6 speedo drive. saying that I ended up changing the front wheel for an early GSXR1100 18 inch 3 spoke one, just thought it looked better for the style of bike its a bit wider at the hub than the bandit which isn't a big problem as ZZR1100 disc's fit the wheel and have a much lower offset. the wheel was already powder coated gold but should look better when its painted black.

is that a grasstrack section as well Garry ?
-
copy away Sam yeah im using the OEM callipers off the GSX1100 as its all i had plus didn't have the dosh to buy any others but they'll do for now on the 750. the back sprocket i already had lying around but had to buy a cheap 530 front sprocket to fit the GSX750 engine. then i just buy the longest cheap 530 chain and cut it to fit. the 750 is just gona be a run around for now so its built on a tight budget.
-
Hi Sam, ive put a 600 bandit rear wheel in my GS 750 with a GSX1100 swingarm, it has a 150 tire on it and theirs plenty of room for the chain to clear the frame and tire, i could fit a 160 tire and still have enough room but you need to machine the sprocket carrier down a bit so the chain is closer to the wheel and move the front sprocket out a few mm. I also fitted a 600 MK1 front wheel in a set of GSX1100ED forks, its tight as the OEM disc's are close to the fork legs (about 3mm gap) don't know if the wider 1200 rim will cause a clearance problem with a wider tire ??? you will have to make some calliper hanger brackets though.

k2 into k3 K3 1000 track bike
TonyGee replied to Smithy's topic in Water Cooled, V-Twins, Singles and 2-strokes
nobody mentioned water cooled engines ??? suzuki for some mad reason thought they would call the gsxf bikes katana's over in the US of A and other places (they even called a moped a katana !!!!!! ) we all know the ONLY katana's are air cooled. -
my mistake, i just assumed everyone knows how they work

but the O/P says he's lost spark on 3 & 4 plugs. so if their is a spark on 1 & 2 then both coils have a 12v supply. one coil supplies cylinders 1 & 4. the other coil supplies cylinder 2 & 3.
-
yes both coils have a separate 12v supply as it splits off from the kill/ignition switches. so if 1 & 2 plugs have a spark then both coils have a 12v supply.
-
??????????? if you have 12v to the left coil which 1 & 4 and number 1 is sparking then it has a 12v supply, same setup to the other side.
-
he has 12v supply as he's got a spark on 1 & 2
-
if it was running ok when you put the plugs in then a miss fire started it could be fuel, where the plugs wet ? fuel can kill plugs but trying another 2 known good plugs might be worth trying.
