  1. the later calliper brackets are shorter than the older GS/GSX brackets as far as i know so the calliper will sit too low unless you fit a smaller disc. interesting bike though, can we see the full thing ?
  2. nice one it was my mate who runs the local bike breakers that told me about it years ago, he must of read the mag.
  3. the "wetdream" mod was a REG/REC from a H###A superdream as they where a better unit.
  4. ah the wetdream mod, qiute popular back then
  5. theirs a good chance that a CDI of another model will work as suzuki are well known for sharing parts, but its a case of finding the right one !!!!!

    Rusty tank

i did one of my tanks with white vinegar and it did a good job, but within an hour or so i could see surface rust appearing.
  7. i was thinking the same thing ? his looks like the one on my 1100 though that doesn't mean it'll work. but i wonder how different they all are ?
  8. i think the trick would be to make sure the threads are all clean and the bolt secews in all the way easily by hand, then if it does snap you have half a chance of getting it out without drilling and the gods are on your side
  9. im always hunting for the 6th gear on 1100's/1200's
  10. check if you have 12v at one of the coil wires with the ignition on, if you don't then its a power suply problem. if you do then its an ignition problem. ( pulse coil/CDI )
  11. thats one long fucking sentence !!!!!!
  12. AGM batterys have more CCA and generally smaller.
  13. looking good it makes a big difference to an old bike with the better wheels and forks.
  14. the 1100 engine i just put in my 750 was a tad smokey when out on the road, i know its been stood for a long time and its a low mileage engine. after a good few runs out and a dam good thrashing it seems to of settled down and doesn't smoke anymore not running an engine for long periods is not good for them.
  15. have you checked/cleaned the gear lever pivot point ? also pull the front sprocket cover off and make sure the shaft hole is clear.
  16. it wont rev past 3000 because it hasn't got an airbox
  17. yes, CV carbs are pretty sensitive to air filter/air box changes. put the box back on and bang a new filter in and see how it runs.
  18. compresion test is a lot better, your carbs need a good clean, pay extra attention to the float needle valve as it sounds like its leaking. and maybe a new air filter.
  19. just like old ladies, they tent to leak with age
  20. i would say it could be a pilot jet blocked or the float valve is leaking. but i would investigate the compression isue as well, 100 psi is not the best reading did you have the throttle wide open when you did the test ? and the engine should be up to temp if possible.
