  1. Just a quick question. Does a crankshaft from a GSX1100 fits in a GS1000 crankcase? I know about the different stroke and the flywheel thingy is different. Thanks
  2. MPH, than it should be right.
  3. Where I live a straight stretch of road is rare, and sometimes it's alright not to worry about a lot of power kicking in. ;)
  4. I had one from an EVO 3, that was too big, boost came in at about 4500rpm, and full boost just after 5000rpm. Advantage was that at normal speeds you never had to worry about that the turbo spooled up when you don't want/expect it.
  5. Used the timing marks on the camshafts
  6. I've been playing with that, whatever I changed from stock setting makes the throttle less responsive before boost, on boost hardly any difference.
  7. I've been working since I was 14 y.o. (30 years now) on mopeds, bikes and cars, and till about 4 years ago I never experienced that problem. Must have been lucky I guess.
  8. I had the same problem! Apparently you need to renew the clips every time you take them out..
  9. I had a 73mm Wiseco 10.5:1 in my GS1000, and that went quite alright. The 78mm goes a lot better!!
  10. I had about the same, no probs around 200hp. I also didn't had any problems with this, but I had some really strong rivets in it, and that welded to the back plate, so not sure if this counts as stock back plate.
  11. When you make the holes 1 or 1.5mm bigger where the oil goes up through normally you don't need a top end oiler, when used thicker studs. You did connect the top end oiler to the oil feed instead of the drain? I've seen that before..
  12. Make sure the internals can handle the extra power... I blew mine up
  13. I put an RF900 wheel in my GS1000, 170 tyre, and I didn't had to change the frame, you're sure you need to? Only way to check it properly is with a laser aligner.
  14. The starter motor can handle 24 Volts?
  15. You can retard the ignition with a higher compression, but you loose lots of power, they're really sensitive on ignition timing, I estimate you loose 10 to 20 hp just like that by retard the ignition too much. Had it with a car and my bike.
  16. Don't buy cheap sets, you'll regret it! Cometic or OEM (are they still made?). For head gaskets I would go OEM. Dynoman in the US of A usually has good and affordable stuff. Suzuki Performance Spares has a lot, and good service, but he's expensive.
  17. I have an oil cooler on my GS1000, works a treat, you hardly notice the extra length in the oil line, oil pressure is there straight away.
  18. Mine had 81 at the wheel with a worked head and an after market exhaust, no high performance.
  19. What to keep? Everything for a while.... From experience, you find a purpose for things straight after you sold it...
  20. I've been busy with the oil pump... The GS has hardly any oil pressure, when the engine is cold you should be able to get about 15psi when you rev it. When the engine is on temperature your glad when you get 2 psi. I made an oil pump what was 14mm wider as the stock one, and even with that the pressure hardly got any higher.
  21. I have a Bandit 1200 swingarm in my GS1000, if it fits in that, it should fit in an EFE, shouldn't it? That can hold a 180 tyre. Plus, that solid looking Bandit 1200 swingarm looks good.
  22. Because the pump is injecting fuel into your cylinders, it gives extra fuel, therefore you can't properly adjust your carbies with the pump enabled. An O2 sensor is a bit of an investment, but you won't regret it. And if you don't want to use it anymore, you sell it.
