  1. Brembo also has to obey the laws of physics...
  2. I've got one from a RF900 on my GS1000, it brakes, but it's very hard to lock up the rear wheel, and that's why I'm pretty happy with it
  3. Have been busy again.. about time too Half of the crank is done now, damn it takes a lot of time, it's not real hard, just time consuming. Now I need the straight cut gears, before I can finish the crank, but other things coming up, so I'm afraid it's going to take a while again. But there's a little bit of progress.
  4. I live on the other side of the planet, I have to ring in the middle of the night.
  5. https://www.robinsonsfoundry.co.uk/shop/online-store/suzuki-parts-finder.htm Here I found parts I couldn't get anywhere else..

  7. I had something like that in mind too, but I didn't want to lose reserve, I need it where I live.
  8. It's a 6 speed, so not an old GS
  9. I've been experimenting with gear ratio's on non turbo bikes, but with power gains up to about 60%, I prefered the stock ratio every time. With my GS1000 Turbo I did not feel te need to change the ratio.
  10. GS1000 instead of Bandit; I took the sender for the fuel gauge out, and made a return in there..
  11. Do con rods stretch that much?!!
  12. Go for the big bore, big change the hot cams don't work with the stock CR and make the bike slower instead of faster. No clue what the CR of your bike is by the way..
  13. I had a DR500 from 1981 for 13 years, and this (worn cam lobes and rocker) would occour when the oil level was too low, slightly too low would cause these symptoms already. No idea if this could be the same with a Bandit, but may be something to look in.
  14. You never worked on a Land Rover V8 than.
  15. Still not running propperly? Ignition timing ok? What brand spark plugs do you have? The manual for my GS1000 says Denso or NGK, but it runs like crap on Denso.. I think it's an ignition problem.
  16. I just discovered this topic.. Nice bike to turbo. I didn't read everything, but I read the bike choked at 6500rpm, is/was your plenum big enough? My bike had a bit of the same problem, turned out the plenum was too small, while someone who had a much smaller plenum had no problems at all..
  17. Been a bit busy today.. I didn't want to make a new exhaust manifold, so I used the old one. Had to buy a new barrel grinder first, old one was broken and I needed one to clean up the inside of the manifold. I t looks from the outside that it's choked where the 4 pipes go over in 1, but when you look from the inside it looks actually quite alright, no sharp bends, and all smooth. Next step is to modify the exhaust so it fits on the turbo.
  18. Made some flanges this afternoon, next step is to weld the turbo to the exhaust manifold, and modify the exhaust, but that's for next week. And as usual, it shows I made it myself.
  19. My GS1000 had the same dip at about the same revs, probably because of the Pod filters.
  20. The Discovery is done, the Rangie is done, I had holiday leave paid out, time to buy bike parts, finally. The big end bearings where quite a challenge to get, a lot of bike shops said the had it, but when ordered they couldn't deliver... The turbocharger is an IHI VF20 ball bearing one, reconditioned by Kunigawa, it's from a Subaru Legacy, it's smaller as what I had, but that's what I wanted, I couldn't find any specs about this turbocharger, so it's a bit of a gamble, but I think it might be right. I also got new crankshaft bearings, about a weeks wages, and I'm not even sure the old ones where warn.. The conrods are the 493 Katana ones, yes I know, I need to rise the cilinderblock by a mm. So, progress! Took long enough
  21. Square sides on the valve covers are the 1100's and round sides are the 1000's is the way I always understood
  22. I was browsing on the net for turbochargers, and of course after I ordered one I came across this; https://picclick.co.uk/Subaru-Impreza-Forester-VF31-turbocharger-Turbo-IHI-183132280914.html May be usefull for someone..
  23. That's going to be costly to send over.
