  1. Ah ok... so the Remus 4-2-1 I have here is not for a watercooled Gixxaaah then. Wonder what it's for though, supposedly came off an oilcooled 1100 engine in watercooled 750 frame but does not fit on my powerscreen engine.
  2. What is the spacing of the exhaust ports on 750/1100W engines?
  3. could the fuel feed position have anything to do with it?
  4. and cam timing also has influence on carb jetting, so does airbox size etc
  5. correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't you need a fuckload of boost to achieve this?
  6. profile says "Birmingham, UK" I'd still go Powerscreen, good compromise between low down grunt and top end rush. Especially with 38mm carbs from a Slingy 750. And as @Rene EFEsays they are generally in better condition than GSX-R engines.
  7. Powerscreen (GSX1100F) plenty available, cheap, powerful
  8. http://old-skool-suzuki.proboards.com/thread/4302/control-unit-elimination one I did earlier, with help from @arnout
  9. that makes sence. Worth trying to install a resistor parallel with the headlight to fool the checker circuit, just like when using LED turn signals with a normal turn signal relay
  10. remove the headlight indicator bulb? I have "fixed" car ABS systems and airbags like this
  11. Hi and welcome to OSS. Pics of the GS1000 please. For EFI @Arttuis your man.
  12. IIRC the GS850 has the fuel cap off-center. @wraith?

    Gsx1100f

take out the engine, throw everything else away, put the engine in an EFE. Or a GSX-R750. Or any other bike really.
  14. when pushing the emulsion tubes out (use a longer bolt with the same thread/size as the main jet for this), don't be surprised if the white plastic slide holder comes out with it. Good opportunity to replace the O-ring on it around the emulsion tube.
  15. fuel tap is fucked if it does not flow on "prime". With the tank off, put it on "on" or "res", and suck the vacuum pipe with your mouth. Fuel should flow. If it does, install and connect the tank, suck the vacuum pipe before connecting that, to let fuel in the carbs. Bike should start now. Fuel tap is still fuct but at least you'll have a running bike.
  16. you should ALWAYS use the journals which come with the head. They are line-bored in the factory. So if you use a new camshaft, always use the old journals, matching the head.
  17. I made a one-off caliper hanger. Center the wheel, measure how much space you have and start constructing. In my experience what fits one 1100EF perfectly does not work out for the next 1100EF. I did mine 10 years ago, the rear wheel later appeared to be offset a few mm, installed the whole lot in a mate's EF this summer and it's perfect.
  18. the powerscreen has helical primary gears (between crankshaft and clutch), they don't take big power very well according to those who know. But other people who can know, say that is only a problem on assembled (aircooled) crankshafts, the oilcooled ones are one piece and it will be fine. I guess there's only one way to find out. Do it.
  19. pics (on the RGV) or it didn't happen
