  1. Ok, just found the Mk2 B12 CDI unit and part of the wire loom. It has one big plug with 16 positions, of which 12 are used. No orange/red wire though. Does anyone have a wiring diagram for this bike?
  2. I volunteered to write the article, will do it, but have some other stuff to take care of right now. Stay tuned.
  3. just swap it for the CBX and be done with it
  4. What was the deal again with the B12 CDI needing a resistor in the ignition switch? Going to make a new loom for my bike, with Mk2 B12 CDI unit and Slingy 750 ignition switch. Now what resistor do I install where?
  5. And even more make sure that you post some pics of your 1100. We like pics.
  6. make sure you also install the C-shaped bracket between the silencers (13 in the pic), otherwise the headers will crack near the clamps (4).
  7. yes. Look exactly like the stock headers on my Slingy 1100. Tried watercooled stock headers on an oilcooled Slingy 1100 once, didn't fit, frame was in the way of downpipes 2 & 3. Here's my Slingy:
  8. nope, the slave cilinder moves as far out as needed and the master cilinder compensates for that
  9. Slingshot 750 is the same as 600F. And so is 1100 EFE.
  10. And only facts please, no guesswork or experiments or whatever.
  11. To everyone, @jonny1bumpand I we are putting together a story about all the wiring mods on oilcooled bikes. Not only the charging mod, but also the sidestand switch + relay elimination and more. If you have any ideas/suggestions/remarks, post away in this topic.
  12. it would be a better idea to write one story which covers all the wiring modifications on oilcooled bikes, like the charging mod, sidestand cutout, circuit breaker elimination, and have it put in the vault.
  13. CC - 8 depending on price. Can get them made locally.
  14. I have a teapot 600 cover + cable on my 1127 engine, it's not much heavier than hydraulic. Make sure the cable is moving smoothly, new is best and makes a big difference.
  15. Welcome. Most important rule when considering buying an aircooled Suzuki 1100: buy now, think later.
  16. the 1990 model does not have a headlight relay. There is a relay hanging in the top fairing but it's the turn signal relay (arrowed in the pic). '88 - '89 models have headlight relays, also hanging in the side of the top fairing.
  17. I ripped them out of my loom, complete with diode and relay. Connected the remaining wires as writen above.
  18. M subframe is different from J/K/L. Wider and a bit longer.
  19. yes that's an L/M swinger, with added brace on top.
