  1. Great project! Pity you're not in the UK. I'd have that Kettle off you in a flash!
  2. Might be a good idea to post in 'General' and say 'Hello' first? Welcome to the forum!
  3. I'd start by measuring from centre of Gudgeon pin to highest point on Slabbie piston skirt/dome, then take it from there. Lots of choice and availability! You want to try getting hold of 63mm T100 pistons. Impossible to find at non-ridiculous prices. Toyota pistons can now be made to work. Poke in the eye for NOS Tri piston stockpilers!!!
  4. If you could get hold of a couple of short (9" or so) 'Bottle Screws', you could fit them as substitute shocks, altering length/height to suit your needs as to angle/height of seat rails. Have a bit play. 'Owt's do-able with a bit fucking around! Having said that, I don't think you'll be too far out with Buff's 385mm!
  5. Interesting post! Always good to put up measurements when 'mix and matching'. Shows the feasibility of changing things for us! I had the same problem with 'immovable outer races' on the Blandit a while ago. Tried for a few days with drifts, screwdrivers ect. Finally gave up and bought the proper tool for around £18. 10 mins, job done. A good dodge, if you were replacing head races was, grind two (or three) notches into the bearing seat in the steering head before fitting the outer race. Gives something to locate the drift on when removing the cup!
  6. Can't help you there but, if you set your frame up level and put an angle finder on the 'arm, it's been said that the optimum 'arm angle is between 12 and 15 degrees. Incidentally, you say 'shock'. Are you mono or twin shocking it? Will try and be more specific when home.
  7. Go on Alpha Sports or CMSL's websites, and look at their parts lists for possible matches. I have a good contact in US that does comparable part no's. Will have a look when I get home.
  8. Funnily enough, I was on the phone to Hagon yesterday about more or less the same thing. B12 arm into 1100 ET frame. I was needing to know std. ET shock length to position lugs on swinger for welding, which was 330mm between centres. Closed eye top - forked bottom end. Hagon will supply shocks closed eyes top & bottom in 10mm increments from 280mm - 370mm. Give him a call. Very helpfull guy! 020 8502 6222
  9. So...what happened to the original tank?
  10. Belonged to a lass called Laura. Long time ago! Nice shaped tank on it too!
  11. Plenty s/h ones on 'that site!'
  12. Interesting! Are the J/K and 'Busa small ends the same size though?
  13. If you have a look on GSR, there's plenty guys on there fitted GSX bodywork to GS's!
  14. Just Google the od and id measurements. Alternatively, try Simply Bearings or Kent Bearings. Or, get hold of Del. He's your Bearing Man!
  15. Short as possible, without any strain or sharp bends. Spare pipe from tank may be tank filler recess drain.
  16. Bad idea posting entire frame & engine no's online, bud!
  17. Hi Luke, and welcome to OSS! Sorry about the job loss, but that appears to be the way of the world at the minute! Chin up, something will turn up, when you least expect it. Been in the same boat many times!
  18. If you've still got the old one, either measure it, or send it to Venhill or similar. If not, take a measure of the routing from throttle to carb linkage using curtain wire, and send to same. Or Wemoto's 'Slinky Glide' cables?
