  1. As mentioned. Drain the oil, see what comes out. Better still, when drained, drop sump if owner will let you. Get a better look! Having said that, I bought a 750 Slabbie that had been left in the weather with plugs out, and carbs off. Inlets not plugged. I drained the oil and a bucket of water came out. Engine's fucked, I thought. On stripping it, bores were toast, bottom end was as new! So the one you're looking at may not be as bad as you think. Room for negotiation!
  2. Can anyone put some close-up photo's up of 750 Slabbie engine, so I can see orientation of engine plates. They are handed, so I need to get them right way round to fit engine right first time! Too heavy to heave in and out more than once!
  3. Tried to get mine out (750). Removed everything in the way. Still no good! Motor was coming out anyway, so not a major hurdle. However, I've heard if you give the box a good hard twist whilst removing or fitting, and it'll come out/go in!

    Hello

Or a small wardrobe? Takin' the piss! Welcome to the madhouse!
  5. Welcome to the forum 'Kat'! You have a good start there, most of which will fit the old chassis, the rest can be made to. Easily! Start a build thread, as we all love pictures! Plenty advice when you need it. Don't be affeared to ask!
  6. Nice rare project. Wonderfull Avatar!
  7. Shoulda left the original short arm in. Makes it more...'interesting'.
  8. Ok lads. Thanks for the input. I'll see if I can get hold of one o them doohickeys!
  9. And what's one of them, when it's at home?
  10. Cheers Ben. I've tried that. No joy!
  11. Is there any way of getting the wire terminals out of these std. Suzuki block connectors for cleaning? Mine are covered in green shit!
  12. Better get it now, Gary. While we're still in. Brexit!
  13. Mine must have some 'stiction' then! All bushes renewed, and stanchions re-chromed.
  14. It's a good start. It's all there!
  15. Try 'Plastex'. Got a good rep! From Repair Products Ltd. 020 8648 3866.
  16. Just c Just called breaker I got the RF lower yoke from. Definitely from 900 and not 600. And, as far as he knows, yokes remained the same throughout the RF900's production run! Problems, problems!
  17. Can't imagine why stems would be different lengths. There again, may not even be RF9 yoke. That site strikes again!
  18. I have a set of Slingshot forks Paul, but I'm saving them for the Slabbie. I'll measure the RF stem and threadform, dia. of hole in top yoke, depth of same, and see if I can find some kind soul with a lathe to make me a nut!
  19. Not my cup of tea either, Viz. Just another option.
  20. Probably, but I don't have one. I was going to try a GS1000 one I have in the garage. I thought it would be an easier solution, using the RF bottom yoke and stem, rather than pressing out and in, the B12/GS1000 stems. Looks like if I made a sleeve nut with a domed head, that will solve the problem. It will also do away with having the top drilled and tapped to take the RF stem locking bolt. I'm sure FBOAB has done it this way, and no doubt he will also advise!
  21. Here goes. PM me your email address, and I'll send you the manual.
