  1. Nice job, John! What paint code did Kenty use for the motor?
  2. The one! Looks proper 'Oldskool'!
  3. There was a list up on here somewhere, telling you by your engine number prefix, what it was, and what cc. Should be able to take it from there. Iirc, the part no of the cover is inside the case. Not much use if you have the wrong cover, but if you find out exactly, year and type of motor you have, you'll find the right one on AlphaSports/Robinsons!
  4. 'I'd show you what was in the box.....but not sure if that's against the rules...???' Open the box...OPEN THE BOX!!!
  5. That's why it's called...Electrickery! Life's a bitch..,and sometimes you marry one!
  6. I believe they're mostly the same. 1100 being slightly taller. CC or Fatbloke will be along shortly to clarify. Or not!
  7. I like the way this could go. Endless possibilities!
  8. It can't be the ignition switch that's at fault, surely? It's a Bandit loom with a non- Bandit switch. And you're getting a spark! Proves the switch isn't the culprit?
  9. Generator covers. 750, 1000 and 1100 all different part no's Alan. Basic shape will probably be similar , but depth and possibly stator mounting points will be different. Clutch covers. 2 listed for 750, 1 for 1000 and 1 for 1100. All are different!
  10. That's a bit of good info there, Longhair!
  11. Think there's a difference, Al. Any particular year? Will look on Alpha in a mo!
  12. Always nice to see a pile of bits coming together! Keep the 'photos coming!
  13. Welding a nut down low seems a good idea. All the torque, right where it's needed. Looks like a good excuse for a pasting with anti-seize, or this Ceramic Grease everyone's talking about, on assembly!
  14. Another method. Get some crisps and a coupla bottles San Miguel, sit the case on your knee, in front of 'Corra', or even 'Emmerdale'. Put a nut on the thread to protect it, and with a small(ish) hammer, tap the top of the stud until you hear the note change (or you lose the will to live). Sometimes works. Always drives the old lady mad!!!
  15. Sorry Katana11, you're outta luck! I must have everything else but! Follow Tomcat's link, should help you out!
  16. As an afterthought regarding overheating the alloy case. To stop you melting the alloy, keep touching the case with a piece of soap. Too hot, soap turns brown. Caution is also your friend.
  17. If you've tried everything else...try this. Heat case round base of stud, when hot, apply birthday cake candle to bottom of stud. Capillary action will pull wax into threads. Let cool a bit, and try extracting stud from top of it. If it starts to twist, (and it might, if still tight), repeat process and grip at stud base. Patience is your friend!
  18. I think I might have a PDF somewhere. I'll have a look when I get home.
  19. I normally use a big fuck-off mash hammer (belonging to me 'auld Dad), but I couldn't tell him that. Didn't want to scare the lad!
  20. Yup! Agree with all! Interesting and...different! Keep up the good work!
  21. Put some weight on the extractor, then give it a good smack with a dead blow hammer. She'll pop right off!
  22. A 7/11??? There's a 750 AND an 1100! Best of both worlds. Why fuck about? Keep them standard. As you said, they're rarer in Canada!
  23. Was that from the donor motor, including sump, Gary?
  24. As I found out! G's & H's are different to F's!
  25. Well said, Mark! Can't be too carefull!
