  1. You can only tap a ball bearing on a seat if that seat’s meant to seal with that particular ball bearing. I think if you tried it with a bleed nipple seating, you’d round the seat out, make it worse! As for trying to grind the seat with valve paste … yes, it would work, if the hole wasn’t threaded! As it is, the nipple would bottom out, and you’d have to over tighten to get a face to face grind. Stick with the tape! As for the half to half seal, try a sheet of 400 wet & dry on a mirror. Don’t go mad. Give it a rub and see where the high spots are. And, tighten the bolts evenly to spec. on re-assembly! Inside to out!
  2. Common fault on pre-unit Triumphs. Ran just fine all the same.
  3. Hi AG125. Eblag is handy if you keep an eye out for some of the less salubrious sellers. Bike breakers are another good source, sometimes better option as you can actually see/inspect what you’re buying.
  4. Nah! I’d try to repair or source another OE tank. It’s part of the EFE ‘look’.
  5. Nobody make their own gaskets anymore? Held to ransom by Cometic? Fuck ‘em!
  6. I’ll have a look for a K manual for you.
  7. What engine is it? Might have a gen. manual.
  8. You’ll have to remove the plug with one of those little terminal doo-dad tools. Or, take all the screws out, give yourself a bit of slack, and tie the whole plate to the case, out of the way.
  9. Probably. But it’s just something else you’ll have to keep an eye on when you’re re-assembling it. Take it off. And don’t forget the long Allen bolt above the clutch. You need to remove the blanking plug above to get at it.
  10. Have a look at the cam chain tensioner & guide for cracking. Measure camchain for stretch.
  11. I bought one a couple of years ago from a guy that worked in SEM. £100 still in the box!
  12. Got to be 100%. I’m about to buy an 1127 cover if definite fit! Also need to know if it’ll seat on faces over starter gear internals.
  13. From ‘The Pages’ STARTER MOTOR COVERS. The startermotor covers from the 1127’s are all the same (The startermotor covers from the 1052 engines are not the same) The 1127 covers can be recognized by a kind of bubble, to accommodate the bigger starter motor. The 600′ and 750’s have a smaller starter motor, and the top line of these covers is straight. (I believe the 1052 motors also have this smaller starter motor and cover). Covers can be swapped among the 600’s and 750’s, but an 1127 cover only fits an 1127. I’ve read it properly this time! So, no! Neither 750/1050 or 1127 covers will fit. All part no’s are different. B12 covers must only fit B12’s ….. or, do they???
  14. Will a cover from a 750/1127 fit a Mk1 B12? Nothing in Frankensteins Pages, unfortunately. FBOAB???
  15. Washer stops the spring cutting the o ring!
  16. Thrust washer behind drum missing?
  17. You’ve got a good start there. Just think what you want to do first. Don’t rush into it and change things. Take your time and do it right!
  18. But it was! Straight in, no bother.
