  1. Yes! It's just a bigger teapot, is all!
  2. Hello, and welcome to OSS. Yes, the Teapot engine will fit, no bother.
  3. Sold mine along with the Alpha 4-1. Wish I’d hung onto the Alpha!
  4. Seems like we all had them, some time or another!
  5. Oooh, posh! Mine never had a remote!
  6. @DuckndiveJoe seems to know his onions right enough! I wasn’t too sure about plugging the gallery when using a different cover, so I’ll take a fresh look at the ones I have today. Might be able to make them work? Failing that, I’ll think about repairing the original. Fowlers have a NOS but, the price is scary … and I mean SCARY!!!
  7. And can I find one that’ll work? can I f@%k!!!
  8. The German cover has the oil hole in a slightly different place, but as it doesn’t do anything, it’ll still be ok to fit? @DuckndiveBlock the hole in the end of the gallery like TonyGee’s?
  9. Can anyone explain the oiling system to the generator casings of the above models? It looks like the feed comes from the crankcases into the cover, but the cover gallery is a blind hole! The pictures I've seen, show a splash feed from the top of the case somewhere. Why a splash feed? To cool rotor & stator? And, if pictures are correct, where's the orifice in the casing for the feed? I can't see one in my case! I have 4 cases that show ... Nowt!
  10. It works. Or a small nail, grind the point off! But, don’t forget to support the bottom end with a small socket. It’s really important! No support ….. broken post!
  11. Or sleeve the mount wi a bit pipe!
  12. Anyone know if B6 and Teapot 6 barrels are the same? Fin shape/bolt pattern ect?
  13. I have a set of the above. Been in the cupboard for years. How can I determine if they work? Speedo’s easy enough, not so the RC! No bike to strap them onto, at the minute. And, where can I get some needles? Usual problem! Muchos!

    Rupe

Hey, Rupe! Welcome. Don’t call it a Katana! Mostly anything will fit. Just mix & match spacers, caliper hangers ect. Check the project pages out. @fatblokeonbanditwill be able to help you out!
  15. Was it not a nightmare trying to locate the bearing half rings and location pegs?
  16. And, although you have 2 selector shafts to play with, I can’t see why this won’t work on the aircooled’s.
  17. I don’t know if any of you have a carry-on when assembling crankcases together. Trying to get the selector forks in the right grooves, trying to push them into place while one handedly holding the cases apart, all the time bearing in mind, the sealant is ‘going off’? Well. I wondered if it could be made easier? What I did was, remove the gear change shaft, (no need to pull it out completely, just disengage it from the selector drum pinion). Remove the selector fork shaft lock plate, shaft and selector forks Drop the forks into their correct position, in the upper case clusters. Put the cases together. Then, it’s a simple matter of lining up the forks, through the sump, from right to left individually, and sliding the shaft in gently, remembering to place the selector drum in the neutral position. Ten times easier (for me, at least).
  18. @clivegtoGot it this morning, Clive. Thanks very much. Top man!
  19. Welcome to OSS, Red!

    Prefix?

What’s an R707- motor prefix off, lads?
  21. Hey, that’s great, Clive. Thanks!
  22. No, Clive. My lock stops on the frame have been butchered. I need measurements from the centreline of the headstock of the shape of the lock stops. Cardboard template would do it.
