  1. i know its not a bandit but it makes a change from white
  2. looks good to me, when its pointing at the road
  3. I can't ride much in the winter as it effects my R/A so the bike doesn't get used much IF i had to use my ET in the winter i would spend the cash on better riding gear. I just can't imagine an ET with a fairing, the bike looks good without one. its part of the unwritten rules to post a pic of your bike by the way
  4. 1980 ET 1981 EX why are you putting a full fairing on an ET ? you'll ruin the look
  5. I had a horible noise on my GSX1100L many years ago, when i stripped it i found the inner needle roller bearing had colapsed on the output shaft and the outer roller bearing on the same shaft had cracked right through the outer race it also trashed the shaft at the needle roler end.
  6. time to measure the ring gaps, and while its in bits do the valves and seals.
  7. you've just opened a can of worms. did you jet the carbs to suit the filters ?
  8. theirs a new theory going round about not honing, the goal is to have a smooth bore which helps a good seal at the rings, so why ruff the surface up again ??? does make some sence !!!! just putting it out their

    Float height

yep, they can be a right bitch on some bikes

    Float height

if im not in a rush i'll leave em over night (with a drip tray under them) but if the float valves are leaking it doesn't take long before you can tell.

  12. so what you are saying is, when the spindle nut is tight the hanger will swing round ?
  13. does your hanger move when the spindle nut is tight like in your pic, or is the spindle nut loose ?
  14. if its like this then yeah it can go to the frame. you can see the bush/spacer inside.
  15. if your torque arm bolts to the frame then the brake hanger swings back and forth with suspension movement. so it has a spacer/bush where the spindle goes through so the hanger can pivot. but if the torque arm bolts to the swinger then a solid one is used.
  16. is it a solid one, looks like it to me !!! if it is then you need to bolt the torque arm to the swingarm not the frame.
  17. are you using the pivoting caliper hanger ? if not it wont work. if its a solid hanger the torque arm needs to go on the swinger.
  18. the best thing to do after having a heart attack is get in the shed and build a bike, its what i did after mine bike looks good, and good luck with getting your licence back

    Float height

are you holding the plastic housing down ? and are the float valve springs being compressed ? tilt the carbs when setting the height.
  20. so im guessing the 2nd gen GSX750 engine is slightly shorter or a flatter sump than the 1st gen GSX750 ?
  21. disconnect the brake light switches one at a time and see if the light goes out, if it does on one switch then it could be faulty, or in the rear one just needs adjusting.
  22. you didn't say if you have checked the ground wire to the brake light ?
  23. the headders i tried where off a 600 bandit, but i wonder if a set off a 1200 would of fit as they are a bit longer than the 6.
  24. I tried a set of bandit headders on my 1980 GSX750 and they wouldn't fit, the problem was the sump but they did fit the exhaust ports. not sure about the next gen GSX engine though ?
  25. when i did MOT's back in the 80's if it had a bulb holder for the pilot light it had to work, but things have changed since then. !!!!
