nlovien Posted April 10, 2017 Posted April 10, 2017 (edited) you'll get the big motor in buddy, maybe fit reduced ID ex stubs until you get past the first turn then flare up, jay gui do this - don't know the GSXR but the CB Gurls blouse guys get great performance from this pipe - forsure it costs a lot - thinking more to mod. an existing pipe - pic is for a Gurls blouse - GSXR uses same design Edited April 10, 2017 by vizman Quote
fatblokeonbandit Posted April 10, 2017 Author Posted April 10, 2017 Nice pipes. Im sure you're right it will all fit I just need to stop fannying about and fit the big engine, then I will know one way or the other before going too far with building it all.... Quote
fatblokeonbandit Posted April 14, 2017 Author Posted April 14, 2017 (edited) so the phrase " back to square one" springs to mind cant believe how tight and dry everything was!! cant get the bottom shock pin out, looks like someone had a go with a chisel Edited April 14, 2017 by fatblokeonbandit Quote

Yup your right, its the bottom shock pin thats really defeating me, im going to make something to hold the swinger in a press and use that rather than beating it with a big hammer like i was taught in the Navy anyway it progress 1 Quote
fatblokeonbandit Posted April 15, 2017 Author Posted April 15, 2017 (edited) So tried pressing and warming and hitting with various hammers, that pins not moving, luckily there was 2mm gap between the shock and the swinger boss, so hacksaw and long series drill did the job, it was solid in there replacerd with a bandit suspension bolt the shock spring is way to short for the body as well????? very strange, at least it all moves now and isnt solid anymore. fatblokeonbandit Posted April 15, 2017 Author Posted April 15, 2017 Right at last im in a position to fit my spare Bandit engine to see if the exhaust and everything is going to work, BUT it dont fit, so off with the sump and pick up, and thats better, had to get Mrs fatbloke to help getting the forks in, but getting some where now 4 Quote
nlovien Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 that is looking good, if you were to draw a line around the engine - especially from the front and around the bottom = thats where the frame is - thats neat Quote
fatblokeonbandit Posted April 15, 2017 Author Posted April 15, 2017 Its fookin' tight, i have several squashed fingers to prove it 2 Quote
fatblokeonbandit Posted April 16, 2017 Author Posted April 16, 2017 (edited) So after 3 hours messing with spacers and washser and stuff, its in the middle and the pipes will go on, its tight, flippin' tight but they will go, so I can crack on with the proper mounts and spacers knowing that it will work after all. And I really wish id marked the down pipes and link pipes so i knew where they all went, its like a very difficult 3 dimensional jigsaw puzzle.??? anyway time to start cooking a fatboys Sunday lunch and drink beeer.... I cant move it back anymore as the carbs need every MM of space to fit under the sloping frame rail... 1 Quote

Captain Chaos Posted April 21, 2017 Posted April 21, 2017 You're lucky, I'm sitting in the garage with my laptop. 750M barrels (gasket face to gasket face) 75mm, B12 barrels 88mm. Quote

markfoggy Posted April 21, 2017 Posted April 21, 2017 I've already said this, EFI and what exactly is wring with modding the fins a little. Quote
Gixer1460 Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 Or RS flatslides - if yer cheap! The 36mm RS's work brilliantly on Barry's Bandit - just saying like! Quote
nlovien Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 wild idea - as you need the extra length to get the carbs into the rubbers, unbolt the rubbers from the block - fit to carb then see if you slide the whole assembly in Quote

Trying to bolt that whole assembly up to the head - with limited access - virtually impossible! Quote
