  1. I fitted a B12 swingarm into my 1st 85 750 slabby, can't remember exactly what I did but as said it was something to do with the linkage. So it is possible depends on your willingness & ability
  2. Might be worth a look https://youtu.be/mm2F08Ys_zU
  3. Normally you'd use a 6.8mm to tap an 8mm hole, are you using a 7.5mm due to the hardness of the steel?
  4. A pic of the bottom of the outer fork leg could tell if its early or later slingshot
  5. My lathe will sort out any change with spacers width between forks should be the same as I'm using 50/54 in the slingshot yokes should all line up got 2 weeks holiday in florida to think about it
  6. Many thanks, bearings seem to be 2mm narrower hope that'll be OK. Running a koso speedo
  7. Just bought a set of 750 srad legs to go into 750L yokes & using same calipers, tge wheel spindle is 25mm not 20mm is it a case of just changing tge wheel bearings? Will discs be OK? (Are the caliper brackets on the knuckle in the same position ie not making the caliper higher for bigger discs?)
  8. Just been told this is getting broken, frame & tank sold. Hopefully new owner will build it into something nice

Seems like not a lots been done but I have fitted 7 fence panels/posts & boards I've been sorting out the fibreglass on the seat unit. It's getting there
  10. Got a big lathe at work, got heat. Its either do it or look for some good replacements then sell these cheap as need doing. Going the 2nd route may end up costing about £100 in the end if they are ok.
  11. Is it much of a job to stop down 90L forks to replace stantions? Removing the knuckle from the bottom? Where would one get said stantions from?

    Well done awesome build
  13. Yeah I hear that alot
  14. Or earlier so the spindle could be overcome by changing wheel bearings, if discs don't fit in the centret the caliper or disc could be spaced but 300mm discs would need adaptors I guess
  15. Just come across this - You dont have to use an R1 front wheel - you can also use a Thunderace or XJR1300 front wheel , discs and even calipers - then you can use the thunderace / xjr speedo drive too - everything will fit straight in and line up - BUT , you wil need to make a small mod the the left hand fork leg because the R1 has no speedodrive , there is a large boss on the left hand forkleg ( at the spindle ) taking up the 'space' where the speedo drive should be , just machine this off , and weld a lug on to prevent the speedo drive spinning around and you're done. Of course you can use the suzuki front wheel , discs and calipers - but they wheel need some machining , spacers and brackets for the calipers to fit properly - more work than is worth it - the yam stuff will be lighter and stiffer , and the braking much better.
  16. I wasn't going to, would the spacing not matter if using 750L yokes?
  17. Has anyone fited early R1 forks into 750L/M yokes? Any problems?
  18. Aren't those 2 holes where a vin plate was fitted?

Once all the engine mounts were it was onto the seat unit, I struggled with making up a subframe trying to sort out angles & getting the seat right I changed things several times & decided to use a Duke subframe & cowl I had sitting in the shed. This ment I had to just make up a mini subframe for the Duke one to fit to. I'm not too sure even now but if it gets me on the road I'll change it later.
  23. Enough meat there to take a little off the caliper?
