  1. update, dont weld it, i did and it ovalised the frame headstock fkin great. Tried to fit the cup and its not even starting to go in, measured it, its 0.8mm out, froze bearing in the vain hope and heated headstock, still no dice maybe mig would have had less heat but hey ho, its done now off to the machinist on Monday see what he suggests.
  2. Its taking shape nicely now, good stuff.
  3. ive got a marving exhaust on one of my efes, its black chrome with a gold can, looks ok and better for ground clearance
  4. the tubes are redundant unless you are running a standard airbox though,so they might have been removed and plugged, i dunno? theyneed the airbox,as it intake pressure at higher revs syphons some float boat fuel and dumps it in the intake, to put it as basically as possible, so without the negative pressure caused in the airbox at high revs, they wont work, not on k&N or ramair filters. the carbs will work fine without the airbox, so dont let that put you off if you can find a set, they are great carbs hope this makes sense.
  5. 750 m ones have a rubber tube from float bowl to intake at top of carb. the pic Clive posted, they dont look like they have the tube. these are the powerjet 38s im talking about here
  6. a lot of people have said a lot of stuff would never work, only to be proved wrong, and wheres the challenge in that?
  7. whats the plan for an airbox? air intakes? out of interest..
  8. its 3 stone lighter and 30 bhp more, what more reason do you need?
  9. well, since no one else is gonna say it- the seat units too high at the back, otherwise its looking feckin ace.
  10. the last one- its in bits anyway and you are starting with a clean canvas
  11. pops knew what he was doing, for sure. any more progress with this one Falatline
  12. no sorry, I don't normally sell bike stuff. ive sold too much of it in the past , only to think 2 weeks later, - I should have kept that.
  13. Thanks pal, ill go have a look for some..
  14. Hello, some muppet (not me, for a change) has drilled loads of holes all over my footrest hangers, gear lever, brake levers etc. Why? ………...gawd knows, my guess is they got a drill for their birthday, its not as if the 10 odd grams in weight saved is gonna improve the acceleration is it? I was wondering if any other model bike footpegs would fit a slingy, as in would bolt straight on, without having to make up adaptor plates. Anyone know? cheers
  15. yes, new engine bottom mounts required, swingarm spindle hole is also a bit weedy, and the 750 frame doesn't have the cross member in the front, by the exhaust headers, which I would definitely benefit from with an efe motor in it. bit of frame bracing always helps too.
  16. might have to add some of that anti fuel slosh foam stuff to it, but would be great to have a 200 odd mile range, and the indent is a waste of space because the std. airbox isn't gonna go back in...ever.
  17. ok thanks for the replies. I need to get some more gas for the tig, but the shop is not open, du to some virus thing that's going around, so it will have to wait.
  18. do you mean the side stands are prone to going up when you lean the bike off them? if this is what you are on about, the simple solution is to move the spring retaining "post" forward of the pivot point
  19. Anyone done it? what thickness and grade of steel did you use? im on about filling the big recess where the airbox normally goes in the underside for more fuel capacity. Some gibbon has also taken, im guessing a sledge, or a 2lb mash hammer to the underside to get dynas to fit. What a fukn mess. Anyone carried out repairs to thiers, any pics? these 2 are up for paint stripping next..
  20. or piano wire the block/head

I have seen these drain pipes chromed or nickel plated before now. Obviously you would have to buy new ones and coat them like, but they looked stunning.
  22. so let me get this right, they want you to pay them, so that they can make more money from entry fees? And they want YOU to do their advertising for them too? id be telling them to f*ck off. whos doing who the favour here? What exactly are you paying them for?
  23. That's quite a bit heavier than I thought it would be. Are you planning a new frame build no class? go on-do it...
  24. as the title really. ive a slingshot shock that's in great condition, but unfortunately has lost all damping. Any recommendations on who to use to rebuild it, and expected costs? and yes, I know other model shocks fit, before you say..... cheers
