  1. i cant see me getting a flat headed punch in here to be honest, I think im gonna go with the weld option. ive got a tig, but not that good with it, but I can always try, I suppose heres what im up against. check out the sweet photoshop skillzzzzzz I got the bottom one out by drifting it, but it had a small lip (very small), this one is flush or even smaller than the frame, I think welding is the way to go. thanks for your advice tho.
  2. Hello. Im doing up my old harris and have removed the bearings from the yokes to get them powder coated. Now the frame headstock. What were harris playing at when they designed this. the bearing cups fit flush with the inside of the headstock tube, meaning you cant drift them out like 99% of bikes. ANy ideas on how to get them out? The best I can come up with is attempting to weld a short bar to the hardened steel bearing cup, and trying to drift it out by hitting this welded bar, or is there an easier way? Do tell
  3. simply bearings are a cheaper source than oem
  4. its looking good now, but the exhaust im not so sure about, personally. it looks un balanced, if you get my drift, maybe its the masking tape, I dunno ? could racefit not have knocked you up a connector from the can to mimic the rear of the can, i.e. hidden under the carbon, and rivitted?. and with springs instead of that ugly connector bracket? anyway its not my bike so just ignore me. I couldn't agree more about the last 5-10% being the most difficult to complete the build, its always the way eh? Whats next to be done?
  5. I like it too. Have you still got your carbon "TLS" ? its perfect....
  6. id pay no more than 1500, given that its a non runner, but im a tight c*nt. if all the bodywork is there , that will save you tons of grief.
  7. I was thinking about taking off my sprint steering damper from my 1100m. question is I suppose, has anyone tried this? im wondering if the handling will turn into a headshaking wobbly mess? What with newer rubber (Michelins), and renthals, is it still needed? opinions , or even better, experiences please. I don't want to be pulling it out of a hedge since ive just painted it.
  8. thanks man, ill have a look good shout, cmsnl have them the sizes are 25x33x30, and 20x27x23.5. success. cheers
  9. hello, don't suppose anyone has a note of the bearing sizes for the gsxr slingshot swingarm? im after the spindle ones sizes and the shock link top one please. I cant take mine off till I get my yokes back, and would like to get them in advance sol its not sitting on stands forever. any help appreciated. cheers
  10. yeah i just had a look at mine, mines a bit further up at the back, but not much
  11. is the stand bracket damaged? im sure the sidestand should come up further towards the footpeg than yours.
  12. photoshop is your friend. I cant use it to save my life, but if you have a kid, ask them...….thats what I did.
  13. FAGs arrived today, made in Portugal
  14. unlikely to be space rocket engineers working in a bearing factory tho isn't it?
  15. Bearings arrived today- SKF bearings. head bearings- made in India- you know, that country well known for engineering brilliance. Wheel bearings- made in Bulgaria, the other well known engineering heartland - doh FAG from now on. live and learn
  16. they might be a Swedish brand, but they manufacture their bearings all over the world, some good, some not so good apparently
  17. I ordered them anyway got a hold of the ones that came out and they were only sealed on one side and packed with grease on the other side. I bought decent ones, I don't like skimping on stuff like bearings, its not worth it. I opted for SKF, only for my brother (who is an actual design engineer), told me (after id ordered them obviously) that they make them all over the world these days and the quality varies- a lot. Lets hope mine were made in Germany, not Indonesia ha ha . FAG are better apparently, oh well, live and learn.
  18. hello, looking for gsxr 1100m wheel bearings bearings. Being a bit dense, I threw away the old ones, and my wheels are still at the coaters, but have got the sizes off the tinterweb- 20x47x14. Question is are the 6204 bearings the ones I want? Anybody know? please ?
  19. I bought a gsxr engine from a bloke who owned one of these frames. I asked him if he still had it, but it turned out he bloody scrapped it cos he didn't think anyone would want it . doh ! Looks like you're gonna have to extend the headers. The engine looks a bit lost in there, plenty of room eh?
  20. google images is your friend.
  21. if only to blow it outa the water....
