  1. scratch me off the list. checked and in cornwall eating pasties and sampling every odd beer I can find that week.
  2. If I go 1216 at some point I'll tell you. I'll be surprised if mine is making 150bhp at the moment....lol Mark
  3. I found a chewed up screw in the eccentric of mine. just don't ask how many other 'non broken' things I fixed before I found it......
  4. No Bullshit award was posted to wee John Mclean after my epic run of success over the years. Going to check my diary to see if I can attend and Win the fucker back John was involved in organising the last one. Question. 2002 suzuki with an oilcooled donk going to cut it? May be well to clarify the rules on this given event. Mark
  5. also, check the rs carbs. If the screws on the eccentric bolts holding the slides level loosen under the top covers then one goes out. It feels like one pot running like a pig. Mark
  6. handy. Thanks Mate. I had told him as such already but had a moment of 'err... am I really sure' Mark
  7. Mate has a teapot. Has 1998 teapot loom and bike but carbs from a 1995 teapot 600 with no tps fittings. Now he wants to know if the carbs will be fine with tps loom setup. Does the tps connector need to have a link wire installed or will it just run fine. I did think fine seeing as mine is done this way but I am less sure seeing as I haven't got a manual for one? Ta Mark
  8. Usual known way is two self tapping screws into the seal and pull. Then slide a new one on and knock carefully into place. Not done it myself buut it has been menrtioned being done loads on here over the years. Risk of screwup means parting the cases. However seeing as if you don't try the slef tappers means parting cases anyway. worth a go I'd think Mark
  9. fairing looks like my old one eh Martin. how did it recover with some glassing? btw. I did the back section on one of those harris exhausts in wrinkle finish. looked awesome and did not fall off which ain't bad on the old bare metal systems. Mark
  10. flatslides with turbo...... possible but a likely headache. Given it smokes I am assuming you have a scavenge system fitted in some form? Has that failed? Mark
  11. slabby engines are far more fun when they come on cam. bandits are more torquey or feel it anyways but they have a very flat power curve which takes away some of the fun. Once turbo'd I'd use the bandit as if using stock displacement the internals are more likely to have done less miles/ less wear. Bandit cams are better for turbo due to duraction as far as I am aware (fruitloop said so). Bandit clutch is fine once lockup is installed. It is only when you start really going busa pistons etc that the clutch could become a weak point. Mark
  12. must admit I like it alot just how it was........ I am a big advocate of 'don't fix it if it ain't broke' Mark
  13. and amusingly... i didn't. worse yet it was bike that let me down! May take a trip down to brightona though. that looks ok too. Mark
  14. sounds good to me. any idea of when? i did wonder if a trip back to the place suzuki sam organised might work as well in burton. that isn't close to anyone surely Mark
  15. have a number of options here. or perhaps given it mounts straight to a bandit headlight... and has an amusing sticker on it or if going for full protection with major frame making headache..... but maximum chip shop points. PM me or email using the taggy thing that I do not know how to work and we can discuss. I am located in Ashford Kent so I doubt to far from you. Mark
  16. the burnup is this weekend gray..... bub, spart are going down. may trip down myself if anyone else goes from here. you going? Mark
  17. given the increase in torque and the target of 'around' 200bhp..... a better question would be why skim the head at all? You'd need to deck the head surely and check the clearance on the valve/head first. A strike on a valve would be far more serious than a loss of punch before the boost comes in. Also. You should note that you'll rarely need that punch. I am fairly sure I lost some on my bandit (or I may have just gotten used to it now) just before the turbo starts making boost but I doubt you'll miss it. The fact is you should be able to tune that out provided you do not install a huge turbo or get the carburation wrong. You will btw.... it is part of the process. Once you have a turbo on the road you'll end up chasing the boost all the time anyway Mark
  18. racegas is posh. bub and I will likely just be on unleaded super I think he should have the edge on my with a stock length swingarm mind..... again. shame spart is sticking his busa in the show again. That thing has so much potential up the strip.
  19. you have this weekend eh clive.... and the usual 'oh shit' wednesday night eh. see you up there. we'll be the bandits in your mirrors..... what mirrors you say?
  20. saving that picture .... to place on his fb wall
  21. takes a lot of effort to make a mk2 look tolerable....... Mark
  22. when my efe starter played up i blew it out, cleared all dust, got some fine (very fine) emery bloth to clean the commutater then using a small screwdriver i cleaned between the comutator segments. Been fine for years after that. No more battery starter issues at all. Mark
  23. As did I.. what i found worked was forget the actual embed links. Go into the actual picture till it fully loads then right click and copy the picture location. Then bottom right of posting bit you 'Insert other media' and 'Insert media from URL', paste the copied location to that box and hey presto. Even worked on my onedrive (which is free! and works on just about all smartphones). Hope that helps. If it doesn't I doubt I'll be much help though as I got lucky after 10 tries using other methods. Mark
