  1. mk2 bandit surely? don't call you shirley? actually did a check.. and nope! its not!
  2. fyi clive. if its the same as mine. TZ750 tank strap for the front of the tank. I bought three till I got the right one! I did hear that on the really early spondons they used rubber belt off those old metal upright hoovers drive belts. Mark
  3. Thats off alan page. pretty sure he cut and pasted that off a mate on a yank site given some of the terminology. He runs a turbo gsx1300. you'd know it if you'd seen it Mark
  4. what did Fred do? I know there was a mod you could do back in the day with a shallow clutch pack with huge springs and hydraulic clutch .. also there used to be a different pack with springs the size of hotel sized coke cans. strip only mind given the pull on them. Mark
  5. saw that posted on that there facey. hope you didn't pay full whack eh. Loads of potential there for a dead cool oldskool built. One thing if you plan to turbo as I did. Factor in the clutch cover to coax pivot point as if its anything like my coax then there is 1mm clearance so lockups are a no go. There are options like heavy springs but they won't hold much more than 170bhp which makes a turbo a little pointless. Mine even has the cut out for the mr turbo kit and still I wasn't prepared to go turbo draw through. stuck N/A. Mark
  6. only added because I'm dead pleased with daves work. nice bit of polishing by a mate too. Them were good chips and pickled onions that day
  7. yup. marks bike. guy found it in a breakers yard of all places minus the cafe fairing Mark
  8. built ages back that first as a home brew framed gsx then turbo then with a cafe racer fairing. Bet the owener would be pleased. I have him on facey so will direct him here eh Mark
  9. easy. its a mk2 bandit so was always unsure if it ever qualified. plus is a bandit eh... fucking bandits.... lol
  10. currently in for added power. too much.. nah.. need more it seems.
  11. why not stick it in that drag bike you brewed up rick? mod plenum and away you go. if the turbo is goosed likely worth a rebuild perhaps. do bear in mind all turbos have some play. excessive is harder to work out mind. Mark
  12. et work a treat just make sure you have the matching cover it it won't fit
  13. given the speed of the rattle.. it does sound like the cam chain to me as well. Hard to tell but carb rattle is different on the rs carbs and it doesn't sound like an air leak to me. Mark
  14. renault 5 turbo version one was a draw through I believe. Not many about as fire was an issue.......... all comments about keeping fuel vapiourised due to air speed in venturi are spot on. Its solvable mind Mr Rix would be a good person to speak with I suspect as Clive sez. Dave dunlop has experience too mind. Its about what you want it for eh
  15. its a thing of beauty that. Silk boxing glove with a knockout punch. spot on
  16. I totally thought you meant the join for the top and bottom Thought it odd given you know more about all this than me!!!! Mark
  17. I thought you measured from the top of the float myself. all the manuals say that. i usually make a float height tool using the lid of a chinese takeaway lid/ 14mm seems right mind. Bear in mind seeing as you'll have installed a fuel pressure regular and a return plus the pump you will need likely to set the float heights a mm higher than normal so they technically close earlier.
  18. and if you want frame work in kent. Lee at Steeheart engineering is you man. Last we spoke he is taking on work as well. Mark
  19. RCD do most of racefits engineering work. On the same estate I believe. After all racefit are an exhaust company eh
  20. racefit built. seen it in the flesh and its spot on. every piece of machining is perfect. RCD did most of that work as I understand it. Loadsamoney though...lol
  21. I'll see if I can find his number. he is a little 'off the grid' kinda guy so we shall see! Mark
