  1. Yes they work well on ever the slide or CV heads, if you have the slide carb head you will need bigger inlet rubbers which you can get off the bay or use z1000j one You will NOT be able to use the standard airbox thou, before some one asks.
  2. As said above height is the problem, I have put a gsx1100f motor (1127cc) in a gs550 frame about 12 years ago, I chopped out the bottom/side frame cradle on the right hand side and made in as a bolt in part so then you can make a bit more room for the motor. Had to use a 16t front sprocket instead of the standard 15t to get more travel around the swing arm mounts (just because I had broped the motor as low as poss to get to can cover). I at the time I used the gsx1100f power screen running gear so did not have much a problem with chain run, but if you're putting any bigger rear wheel than a 4.5" rim you will need to do some work around the swing arm mounts. Using a 750/850/1000 frame not as much a problem but as the 550 frames are smaller length wheel base etc they are much more fun to ride when done.
  3. Happy your back on your feet and same for the bike that's looking well. Welcome back
  4. Funny this, as I was thinking last night what gearbox's will fit in a b12 motor if a gsxr/gsxf 750/1127??? So I will need to watch this one
  5. Hi all, Does anybody know what the differences are between the gs750 and gs1000 frames? Is the main cradle tubeing the same size and swing arm pivot points the same size ? If I remember you can swop the gs750 and 1000 swing arms about as well as the gsx et ones?
  6. Now they are the dog's bollocks,
  7. The 6 pots are shit go back to the 4 pots much better. Bigger is not always better, your doing a bike not a women Had some 6 pots on one of my bikes ended putting them on the bay and ripping some one off but they bided that much
  8. Looks like Wiseco stamping. As for new rings Debins,Suzuki Performance Spares etc
  9. Also check that cable and carb linkage are all free and not sticking. See the butterfly links sticking but will work when given a hand full. Just me but I always start at the basics then go for the more in-depth, see people strip and put new can chain in a gsxr motor when it just needed the trencher sorting
  10. And who says a women cannot ride a bike how it should be
  11. As said 4-2-1 is good for all round/low mid range, 4-1 are good for top end power. As for carbs also depends on what you want 36mm are good for alround power 38mm mid to top. I have a set of 38mm carbs on the gsx1100f powered Kat and seem to work well still has good bottom end because of the F cams but the carbs gives it me top end so it can still keep up with the miss gsxr1100 (1127 streetfighter). So it's all about what you want.
  12. If it's only doing it when hot give it a good service first and don't forget the air filter as I have seen lots of bikjes have running problems because of a old dirty filter, then check for air leaks and check that the choke is working right and not sticking.
  13. Would not the gsxr blocks do the same? As the b12 bores are basically the over bord gsxr?
  14. A standard gs750 on here, cool
  15. I was running a gsx750et loom and CDi on a gs1000 and all worked fine.
  16. Other way round the standard ones will not go with under bucket, as the spring retainers on the under bucket take up more room than the standard ones. As far as I know you can use the APE valve guides with standard buckets.
  17. Hi and welcome. I used them in my gs1000 motor but that's got APE HD springs and MTC under bucket shim kit etc, as the standard would interfere, but YJ is the man I would say to ask.
  18. Don't know about the 36mm carbs, but I have fitted the gsxr 38mm carbs on my gsx1100 power screen with no lose of bottom/mid as that comes from the cams (let the argument start on that one ) but it gave the motor a lot more top end at lower revs.
  19. Hi all, Does anybody know if the can chains are the same or different in the gsx1100f ( 1127 power screen ) to the gsxr 1100 (1127) ? I have heard they are different in the b12. Cheers in advance.
  20. That was cheep, was it a USA one? As they are smaller and don't bring as much. I sold a very scruffy one last year, and the bidding went mad. It sold for over £100. but played for some nice bits for one of the projects.
