  1. Going to need to replace ever the reg/rec or the geny on my GS, where/who dose the best/most reliable? Did see on the old site a link of a place that did good patend one's but can't remember who/where it was, any help.
  2. If it's the o rings that fit under the brass nedel jet holder you can get them from Robinson's for not to much, if these have gone you will see the fuel coming out the back of your carbs (or it did when mine went) I am using the 38mm on my 1127 and have got 144 main jets in and that spits flames out of the zorst on shout off and is running rich, so I would say 155 main may be a bit big for the 750 motor? What's your compression like? Are the plugs wet or oily, I take it the valves are at the right setting and not to tire? Is your spark a good strong blue ? Pilot jets, are they clear, if the bike has not been run for a time they may have some crud in their try setting them at 2.5 turns out. Just some starters
  3. You can get it off with the zorst down pipes still on, but you will find it easier to take it off and zorst gasket's are only about £8 for all 4.
  4. I think the b12 headers are a bit longer but will fit the 750, it's when you want to put b6 on a b12 it won't work
  5. I know the feeling, I was the same and got a long waited kat about 5years ago and I can say I most probably will never sell it. Nice kat and all the right bits.
  6. I have a gs750 gear box which is going in the motor
  7. Without a lot of frame mods the 1000 will no where fit into the 650 frame. But yes it would be cool.

    compression test

Are the carb rubber's in good condition? Try putting some washing up liquid over them and see if it runs better then.
  9. Will the gs1000 clutch plats fit the gsx basket?
  10. Just thinking, if you use a b6 rear wheel for a mk1 I believe the spindle is the same size as your gsx and you will need to chech this, if you use a gs500 twin rear sprocket career it will bring the chain nearer the wheel so now need for a spaced out front sprocket. Well it works with the gsxr wheel and a gs1000 motor.
  11. No problem going out in a bit so will pick it up tomorrow I think post will be about £15 but will check.
  12. The 1000g eng will also fit strate into a 850g frame swing arm also fits both ways.
  13. Thinking about it I have a mk1 b6 front wheel in the shed you can have if you want, there are no discs and one of the disc bolts has snapped in the wheel which could be removed by a local eng term, just pay the postage.
  14. Hi and welcome to oss, As been said you can put a 4.5" gsxr rear wheel in your standard swing arm or a bandit 600 which is 4" you can fit a b6 front wheel in your standard forks or rf600 which has a 3.5" rim you will need to change the f/wheel herrings and make some hangers for the callipers. Front end you can go for slabside or slingshot or gsx750f.
  15. Been looking on that site and their seems to be two types of clutch basket/hub, one has a solid outer like a gs850/1000g and the other has slots like the gs1000 chain drive has. So which is the right one off/for the gsx1100et?
  16. You may find that the clutch basket has got some deep wear groves in it that will stop you getting the neutral, if not to deep you can take them down a bit. IE smooth them out.
  17. Cheers all, thought the cams bit was bs, so as I am building a tuned gs1000 motor (1100cc, cams etc) is it worth putting a gsx clutch in my GS, as I was going to put HD springs in the basket anyways and which gsx1100 clutch do I use? The 1100et or 1100efe?
  18. Just been looking on that site and had a look at a gs1000 which he says has gsx1100 cams put in it and a gsx1100 clutch, amung over bits. Not shoure about the cams bit as one is 8v and the other is a 16v, but can you put a gsx1100 clutch in a gs1000 and whats the benafit? Anybody know
  19. I believe so, all have 4 wires and same 6mm bolt hole centers,
  20. The gsx1100f has a 16" front wheel and the gsx1100g has a 18" I believe, if it was me as the standard front end are hard to get look out for a b12 front end but the wheels will not match.
  21. Is there a better gsxr can to put in a bandit1200 ever one of the 1127 or one of the 750 or are they all the same? May as well ask as some one is going to. Lol
  22. Yes, last oilcooled gsxr motor was shim not tappets.
