My gsx750s Katana with 1127 motor.
  6. Looks like Moto Martin to me
  7. Welcome to OSS, nice modded GS (2v for you over their ) and nice 4v
  8. Welcome to OSS, don't know much about the 400 as never played with one much. Pics always help on here, we like pics. PS a bit more of a interdiction in the general page may help before leaping in with questions.
  9. It looks very trick,(nice) as to the BMX bit, sorry BMW. The site name gives it away As to the GS, service apx every 3000 mile's. Fuel will run on both unleaded or leaded, can't say what mpg you will get as the carbs have been tweecked and how hard are you going to ride it? But anything between 30-50mpg The main thing with all GS is the charging reg/recs are not the best but putting a updated after market one on or conversion to a super dream one. The last gs550 I had, had it for 8 years, 3 years as a dispatch rider on it and the can chain went after 100,000 miles Don't forget your looking at a 30 ish year old motor so there will be where on it but if you want a press the start button and go day after day get a new bike and stop pissing
  10. Nice build by the way As to the white smoke coming out of your breather, this is most probably condensation, is it cold or damp where you are? You don't need the filter on the pipe and I would remove the filter. The only other thing it may be is its over heating, but as its only run for a short time I would not think so, seen white smoke coming out of the breather when been in very slow traffic on a hot day (not that much other here ) If it dose not stop just check your getting oil to the top end and someone has not nick the oil pump gears.
  11. All the 750 will go nice whether the gsxr slad or sling or gsx750f teapot. At the no I'm putting a b6 motor in a 550 frame it's on the projects page. Like I said I have put a gsxr1100 motor in a 550, as said above you cannot do a service on the motor with it in the frame, chain run is not to much a problem if you stick with a 4.5" rim (160 tyre) go bigger you need to start chopping the frame, to get the 1100 motors in/out you need to remove the can cover and sump. I make the right hand bottom frame rail as a bolt in/out part to make life a bit easier.
  12. Hi and welcome to OSS, seems like you have introduced your self, but most say hi, then ask the question As to your question, are you good in the work shop? The gs750/850/1000 won't go in the 550 with out remaking the frame. You can put the gs650 top end on the 550 (someone was selling some bigbore pistons for the 650 in the sale bit) The b6, gsxr, gsxf 750 will also go in. The gsxr1100, gsxf1100 and b12 can be put in but with a lot of work and I mean a lot, and you need to brace the frame especially with the bigger oilcooled motors, but are a huge amount of fun and never stop on the front wheel for long
  13. Don't forget they are other 30 years old now, and we are all filling abit slower
  14. I've have a lot of big bore GS1000 (1085,1100 and 1148cc) all hi comp and not had problems with the starters, starter clutch yes but not the starter. If you get a standard starter, make shore the brushes are good and check the small bearings are in good condition and you should be OK.
  15. That's the right way are they the 36mm or 38mm you have got? Bike looks nice buy the way
  16. Dose not look like a problem to me, maybe an addiction - but, hey, I think we all have that one where Suzuki bikes and parts come into it I'm only 2 bikes short before I've got one for each day of the week, but I am working on that one So I do a bit of bike now and again... I can handle it; can't I?
  17. You mite be better off asking for a under 18 year old, for the techno stuff that is
  18. Junk the b6 carbs and get b12 or gsxr 750/1100 carbs.

    hello

    Welcome to OSS
  20. Interesting interdiction hi and welcome to OSS. Yes the 750gsxr will go in a bandit 6 the b6 carbs will restrict the gsxr motor a lot.
  21. The cracking will not help on the set up or running of the bike, is this on all 4 carbs or just some? If all cylinders are above 100 psi it should run (not the best would be better 120/140 psi or more) anything below 100 is very low and the bike would not run very well. Are the values clearances OK? Are the carb rubber inlets OK no cracking and sealed to the head ? Did you use the gs850 head as well as the barrels or just the gs850 barrels as the 850 had CV carbs and a much bigger carb rubber and the slide carbs won't seal on the 850 rubbers.
  22. Cheers for that, just mk2 forks seem to be cheeper.
  23. Dose anybody know what the difference is between the mk1 and mk2 forks are and will they interchange?
