  1. Just thinking ahead for when new shed is done (if it stops raining so I can get the base down lol). I started a gs550 with a b6 motor in it and when I can get back onto it I was thinking of putting a 4-2 zorst on it. So dose anybody know what zorst will fit and will I need to change the sump? Was thinking gsxr1100 or gsxr750 but cannot think of a 750 with a 4-2 or maybe gsx750f???? Any info. Cheers.
  2. There are some xv wheels on the bay and you can get a 150 rear tyre on and even get a 160 on (I had the 160 tyre on but you had to take the hub off to get the wheel in/out but that's not a hassle).
  3. If it was me, I'd put/convert it to 1" wide flat handle bar's, change the seat to something that's closer fitting the the frame and use a push bike shock under the seat to take out the worst of the bumps. Maybe put the rear wheel from the Suzuki xv800 in (as they go state in with no messing, just get the brake hanger and spacer. Done this ) and put the front end on to mach. But hay that's me.

    Gs 1000

Have you looked at a slab top yoke? Nice and clean and no pissing with front end swops.
  5. Something a bit more basic, I have a set of gsx550 clocks on my gs1000g
  6. If you want good ones get Cosmic gaskets about £15-20 each for the side cover ones, £20 ish for a base and £50 ish for a head gasket, but you always pay for good gear.
  7. Will clear the sump OK, but you do need spacers for the headers, well you do when you have the k zorst on a oilcooled motor in a aircooled frame
  8. It all depends on the whole setup, as the zorst can/will make a difference as well as airbox or k&n filters. 4-1 gives more top end power and a 4-2-1gives more allover power and if you speeck to Dyna themselves they will tell you getting it spot on all the way through the revs with a 4-1 is at best hard to get.
  9. What do you want? Anything can be made to fit if you want.
  10. Most gs1000 standard will only make 70-80bhp at the rear wheel on the best of days, back in the day Suzuki quoted bhp at the crank not the rear wheel.
  11. All I did was take the Suzi shaft knuckle joint and the ntv one to a man in new mills (how make/refurbish knuckle joint and prop shafts) and asked him to mate the two and balance them. I now have a shaft prop that bolts on the same was the standard GS one does and slots in with the standard ntv hub It handles very well (thanks for the compliment) with the 17" on, the ntv rear shock seems to work well even as its a basic type, the single disc on the front is good as its quiet big (think its 340mm dim) the gsxr 6 pot work but like most (in my opinion) not much feel, if I was going to complain about anything it would be the gearing, as its very low revving ie top gear hitting 3 numbered (if you know what I mean but only on a privet road copper) its revving at 5600rpm and still pulls like a steam train, but the take off from the lights can be a bit sluggish without a real good hand full.
  12. The low down, started life as GS850g now has GS1000g motor, bored to 1100cc, ported CV head (gs1000) GS750 cams (as they let it rev quicker) welded/balance crank, HD clutch (back plate and back plat springs HD as well as front springs) ports on head to suit B12 carbs/carb rubbers, B 12 carbs with K&N filters, Danvik stainless zorst with home made end can. Fully braced frame, NTV600 single side swing arm (if I remember as it was done about 15+ years ago, cut down by 20mm each side with new bearing mounts made and welded in place, NTV600 rear wheel (160 tyre) NTV600 shock, GS1000 yokes GSX750s1 (kat) forks with antidive removed, NTV600 front wheel new wavy disc with GSXR1000k2 6 pot caliper. Standard body work, rear end cut down by 3" hon## CB900 front mud guard z type head lamp+ firing, GSX550 clocks, home made seat, home made crash bars, rassk rear sets. Rides well, goes very well was dyno at 97bhp rear wheel with 88 fpt (but that was when it had a 1085cc kit not 1100cc and had GS slide carbs, not had it dyna in it courante form but it is quicker. Not bad for a shaft drive.
  13. Cheers, There is not a build thread on this bike as this is about its third plus incarnation and never got round to doing one, sorry. It did start life as a standard gs850g but no more Let me know what you would like to know about it and I will tell you as all the work has been done by myself
  14. Yes, as Fazz711 says, a blast from the past. Us to go there quite a bit, till things for him went tits up for him or his head, one of them things that could of been so good
  15. Got one of the engines in my Kat seems like most use them for the engine more than the bike itself
  16. Welcome back bike looks better without the firing
