  1. Look at it this way, (eblag pricing) sell the teapot motor apx £250 sell teapot CDI apx £50 use teapot carbs and zorst, buy gsxr1100/b12 motor apx £400-£600 CDI apx £50-£90. There is a b12 motor on there for £399 says it has ported head and 1216cc kit ???
  2. It's a vacuum tape, the pri (3 o'clock) allows the fuel to flow freely, ie us this to get fuel to the carbs if its been stud for a day or two. When the tape is on the On position or Res position fuel should not come out of the tape till the engine is being turned over or running. So when not using the bike you can leave it on the On or Res position.
  3. You should not need to change the pilot jet with the standard carbs unless you are going for a very big big bore, I would go for a 134 main jet with the needle in the center groove.
  4. Take it it's for your et project ? I believe the teapot already has the 36mm carbs, you could put the gsxr cams in which will give some more bhp but you will lose the mid power as the power/revs will go up the range. My last teapot powdered bike I had lots of fun with most of all on the twists and turns, but on a open road you cannot beet the grunt of a bigger motor, gsxr1127,gsx1127f or b12 for the cash. You could big bore the 750 to 884cc I think, but your looking at about £500 for that which is more that you would pay for the bigger lump.
  5. I have a gsxr750wr swing arm with gsxr slingshot 5.5" wheel in my kat all fits well, same size wheel spindle and swing arm spindle.
  6. Cool, that will help for the gsx1157et project
  7. You can split the crank cases without the need to remove the top end, you can then get to and see the hole gear box and forks you do need to remove the clutch basket.
  8. Will b12 mk2 front brake discs fit the mk1 ? Cheers
  9. Welcome to OSS, we all see the light at some point and go oldskool
  10. In a dilemma now red/black or black/white ? I know, one of each

    gs750

Welcome to OSS, nice gs 750
  12. Welcome to OSS, as said just put the 750 motor strate in, better motor all round but don't forget the 750 carbs if you want to make the most of the extra cc
  13. Had a z650 with a gsx750f motor and carbs, same set up as you had dyna jet stage 3 in it. But just to get it up and running put some dyna 136 jets in it to get you started

    Engine Help

Welcome to OSS, if your on here it won't stay standard for long, it's a highly contagious disease modifying bike A good little bike the 400 twins had one years ago and was well in priest when I got 3 number on the speedo (not on the public road copper ) just keep a eye open for a motor they are about.
  15. As above, b6 mk1 wheel gs500 sprocket carrier, but still need to sort out spacers and if I remember the b6 is the same 20mm spinal but the GS carrier is 17mm center sleeve, so you will need the b6 sleeve and cut that down. You can use the b6 carrier but it can be title. The other thing you need to think about is the rear brake, as yours is on top and the b6 is under neath, so you will need a gsxf calliper top keep it on top. Easy swop
  16. The main thing I find with the under top cradle bracing is hitting the tank if it's to big, same with the side panels and fuel tapes, not much a problem with the Kat, as the tape is more center but the GS/GSX are at the rear of the tank. (Done 4 braced frames now and find something new each time )
  17. Yes, for about 18 years
  18. Cheers mate, I like it for my day to day all year round bike
  19. Can anybody tell me what size/diameter the 1996-2000 forks are? (42/43/46 etc) Cheers
  20. That's a new one (trust you ) 13.8v is OK, a bit low my gs1000 is 14.2v at 3500rpm. All I can think of is a bad wire probably a earth ? As if it was a power wire I would think you blow a fuse, or maybe something trapped agast the frame and when you rev the bike it earths out and reduces the power out put?
  21. I do get worried about a man who has a bike with such a clean under seat part of the mud guard
  22. In the last incarnation it was matt black
