  1. Couple more pics.....I seem to be spending a lot of time in the garage looking at her.....come on spring!
  2. Thanks guys I'm so pleased with her......the suspension upgrades have made her a joy to ride ..:still a heavy lady but so much more planted and stable. In and out are way more linear and controlled.......I love this sexy old girl.
  3. Still needs some dialing in, and working on mirrors....but here she is....I'm very pleased.
  4. So it turns out I was wrong about the wheels on the 1100....I got VIN and engine serial numbers....and it's a J model....apparently they switched to those wheels for the J models.
  5. I'm working on it....some weird logistics to get them across border
  6. I think il hang on to everything....hard to come by bits for these old ladies....also il be storing them for prob a year.....after my 11 k is done this is next in line to get some love. 78 z1r.
  7. Alright boys! You've convinced me....il have to bring from the states to Canada....which will add to the price slightly....but they are super rare in Canada as well.....don't really think I can go wrong.....7/11 perhaps!
  8. So a couple slabbies have fallen in my lap....the first is an 87 1100....apparently it was used for drag racing...it's been sitting a lotta years but it runs.....doesn't have correct wheels and no airbox....I'm no expert on slabbies so any thoughts or advice on what to look for before buying? The second flame bike is an 86 750 that the guy raced for 5 years...it seems like the uppers and mids are wrong? He says it runs but doesn't presently have a fuel line hooked up as he only has use of one arm( waded his busa bad) but says it will run. Would parts transfer between the two? He wants 2300 usd for both....both have clean title....
  9. So my 1100K is resto is well on the way, and the opportunity to buy a 1100M has popped up. I know the nose cone and tail cowl are different but is everything else compatible? Any unobtanium parts I should definately grab? Love some opinions on whether I should buy it. Cheers
  10. Thanks for the detailed response Jaydee....very much appreciate it. The....ears?( the part that the shield and mirrors attach to), of the nose cone are the major problem.....so my painter/welder thinks that he can cut the ears off of a 750 nose cone and weld them onto my 1100. I am concerned about screen fitment and mirror position however, so further investigation is required. Cheers
  11. My K nose cone has seen better days, lots of previous repairs done poorly.....so I have access to a 750 unit....and my painter says he can make it work by filling the exsisting mounting holes and creating new ones to make it work, as well as removing the the inner pieces and welding on the ones from my 1100.....just wondering if they are cosmetically the same except for the changes I mentioned? Any one used a 750 noseco e on there 1100? EDIT: It appears I would need to use 750 mids as well? Cheers
  12. Bolt spacing was 29mm on the repros, and 49mm on my OEMS....glad I asked....the search continues
  13. Thanks, I've emailed for some actual photos and the bolt spacing to confirm they will fit. Il let you know what the results are. Cheers
  14. My Oem mirrors are shot, and I see on fleabay there are a few replica options.....was hoping someone could recommend a brand that they've been happy with? I don't wanna get something that looks shoddy....and they all seem to say " exact OEM replica" cheers
