  1. Why was I of the opinion that the plates needed a channel from hole-to-hole to allow the oil to pass? I think mine were like that...
  2. Gents, Can you confirm the fittings on the engine going to the oil cooler are M14 x 1.5? Looking to add a cooler to my GSX11. Cheers!
  3. The yokes from the '89 1100 were a direct fit on my GSX. I would expect the stem is the same?
  4. I know for a fact that the GSX & GSXR both use 20mm axle, bearings & spacers, etc. Does that help?
  5. Over here the claim is, "If it was easy, women & children would do it!"
  6. It's my understanding that the drive gears are different between the two. Using 750 gears on the 11 will spin the pump faster, giving greater flow. +/- 30% I believe??
  7. Here in the states, I have seen it both ways. When I lived in Missouri in the mid 80's, every vehicle had to pass an inspection of sorts... make sure lights, wipers etc worked. Brakes were serviceable, or within spec. Pour black, toxic fumes out the tailpipe, but was "safe". Here in California, there is no such test, but we have to pass a tailpipe sniff test for cars & trucks. A complete rolling pile of excriment, but it won't harm the environment any more than allowed.
  8. I have seen a couple of these over the years. Reduces pull effort and pull length at clutch end.
  9. Isn't the year of manufacture on the neck??
  10. I have used Sprocket Specialists several times in the past & can recommend them https://sprocketspecialists.com/
  11. Are you going from a 630 chain with the rubber damper in it?
  12. Welcome Toddy! There's just sump'n about a semi nekkid slingy.
  13. We've got Belzona coated products at work. One of them has 600 PSI natural gas behind it. Good stuff.

    Air vs Oil

On this, and many other forums I haunt, the answer is always both. Get both.
  15. Some of the, um, "smaller" fellas might get away with progressive springs, but us "full sized" folk need springs suitable to our weight & riding style. My last go 'round, I think I used 1 kilo/mm springs on my old girl. Also due to the higher spring rate, a heavier oil was recommended. Another consideration is the gold valve emulator. It gives old forks the ability to split up & separate the compression & rebound damping. I liked it in mine!
  16. Look to the Pingel folks for help https://www.pingelonline.com/images/PingelPowerfloFuelValveApplicationChart.pdf Says the R1 tap holes are only 34mm apart. Also says the slabby are only 44 apart
  17. Not a Kat, (obviously) but Motogpwerks pipe
  18. Part of the project investigation process involves contacting the seller or distributor and asking them about their product. I have found a seller here in California who says his parts are assembled in California from "imported" components. I think I can work with that.
  19. Chris and his crew can do great things.
  20. Has nowt to do with quality, or lack there of. It's a personal preference. I would rather my $ not go to china, and will expect to pay more for an alternative that doesn't involve using chinese parts.
  21. I've been telling my co-workers for years
