  1. What Chubster said, the mk 2 bandit have very different carbs, with different spacing, BSR36 instead of BST 36's.. all inter changeable as long as the rubbers stay with the carbs, Ive got a MK1 engine at home with MK2 rubbers on it, ill measure them later.

  9. So take the cover off, remove the idler pinion and shaft and see if the starter goes round when not connected to the engine?
  10. Did the bike spin over with the plugs out ok?? Can you turn it by hand ??
  11. short answer, NO.... b12 has 26 teeth on the alternator, 1127 has 28 teeth and 750/600 have 30 teeth, they can be swoped easily, this is not definitive, so count the teeth on the alternator being removed and the gear with same number of teeth must go back in..
  12. Don't force it, if it doesn't just push in with a firm hand then you need to rotate the engine to get the gears to mesh before pushing it. too many people shove it in then do the bolts bolts up and pull it in, and snap the teeth on the drive gear on the back of the clutch. How do I know... I did exactly that about 20 years ago, cost a fortune as I didn't realise the gear came off the back of the clutch basket, so bought the whole thing!!
  13. The b12 front end will go in if you swop the steering stem for a slingshot one, the b12 swinging arm is too narrow so spacers need making, the carbs, wiring loom CDI, switch gear, will all work and the exhaust will go on but not the right angle of the dangle..
