Hello,

my name is Karst from Holland, I’m new here.

I’m starting A project to upgrade a GSX1100ET, got RSV mille suspension and Ohlins mono at the rear, connected to a TLR swingarm. I got an EFE engine.

I’d like to know if an EFE Gas-tank fits the ET frame, does anyone know? Now i have the GS1000 tank fitter but I think its to smooth and little,  anyone looking for a GS-tank?

1st foto is how the bike was, 2nd is how it is now, then with different wheels and front fork, now got the showa front fork and 5 spoke aprilia rims

First the bike was from A mate but he allready sold the ohlins front fork and Y-spoke rims..now I’m taking his project further, so I wil Come up with Some questions, hope this forum can help me!

Hi man and welcome. I have a GSX tank on an EFE frame and it rubs so I'm guessing your way round might be fine? I mean the EFE must have a slightly wider tunnel..

You've definitely got a gsx1100EFE / gs1150 / 1135 cc engine. Produced from 1984 up to 1987.

As for confirming the year of your engine.. not by pictures. Engine number is only the way i can think off.

@Cheeky4648 recently posted some information about a small difference between the years but nothing big:

701 engine code 1150 had 8mm crankcase studs but 702 and 703 cases were changed to 9mm studs in the ctr of cases by oil filter.

As for recommendations regarding a exhaust system.. JayGui seems to be the one to have ATM : http://www.jayguiracing.nl/onze_uitlaten.html

As @Blubber says it can only be determined what year 1150 you have by engine number. As all 1150 engines are identical from the outside. 701 was 1984 then it gets iffy as 702 can be late 84-early 85 if you see what I mean. It dosnt matter if you want engine parts as all years interchange.

Get a racefit legend they are ossum and only weigh 4lbs(y)  1.81818182kg in euro speak9_9

Well.. If you swap the filter cover plate with one off an earlier 1100 (ET/ESD) it is, but if you don't and run it without an oil cooler the pressured oil has nowhere to go.. Not good..!

Cool project btw.. I have a V&H on my own EFE, but not quite the same type as pictured above.. Also got it a lot cheaper as a used part from Eblag..
