Dezza Posted December 20, 2022 Posted December 20, 2022 The bearing in question is the output shaft bearing: so changing that is going to involve a bottom case removal, isn't it? Quote
fatblokeonbandit Posted December 20, 2022 Posted December 20, 2022 and it needs the locating peg and half ring. so a standard one wont do... 1 Quote
Swiss Toni Posted December 20, 2022 Posted December 20, 2022 (edited) And the correct bearing is impossible to find. I know! Plenty advertisers ‘In stock’ Scroll down and ..... ‘No stock’ @Jebon here ordered one from Oz. When it arrived, right box and part number ... wrong bearing! So get bearing of correct size with no groove and use some appropriate bearing loctite? Quote

I heard they are no longer available. If so three ways to go, 1. Hope to find old stock 2. As @Dezza say and see 3. Put a 750 box in there Quote
TonyGee Posted December 20, 2022 Posted December 20, 2022 forgot about the half ring but could a grove be made in the bearing I posted ? Quote

I'd thought of that Dezza but, unless 100% sure the Loctite will hold the bearing in the right place, and not break down ... is it worth the risk? 3 hours ago, TonyGee said: forgot about the half ring but could a grove be made in the bearing I posted ? Possible Tony, as a 'Foreigner' but paying a machine shop to do it wouldn't be cost effective! Quote

Blower1 Posted December 22, 2022 Posted December 22, 2022 6305 NR is standard ball bearing with groove. It is only 17mm wide, but installing 2mm shim(s) between bearing and gear shaft will solve the thickness problem. Bearing shops are selling shims too. 4 Quote

Lachie04 Posted December 22, 2022 Posted December 22, 2022 I got that bearing from Suzuki in June 2020 Maybe check with Suzuki dealer mine can tell me if available ex factory Delivery can take a while so depends on how urgent you need it though Quote
Swiss Toni Posted December 22, 2022 Posted December 22, 2022 It all comes down to how much faith you’re going to put in the Loctite? It’s good ... but is it good enough??? Quote
Fazz711 Posted December 22, 2022 Posted December 22, 2022 Loctite can be very very good if it is applied correctly. Lots of applications where metal is bonded with some kind of glue. Even Aviation use lots of it. Quote
TonyGee Posted December 22, 2022 Posted December 22, 2022 yes the red locktite can stick like shit to a blanket. Quote
coombehouse Posted December 23, 2022 Posted December 23, 2022 (edited) If you can read the koyo or nsk bearing code from the old bearing, you might find that these lot sell it. They are in France but deliver quickly. I bought 1200 bandit grooved bearings from them from the number etched on it. https://www.123bearing.co.uk/ Edited December 23, 2022 by coombehouse Quote
