Spondon no 10

Personal opinion, but there's something not quite right about the lights. They're too small maybe? Or should be spaced wider? Or square?

Hard to put my finger on but everything else from any angle seems balanced, but they don't seem to go/fit in somehow?

Kind of agree. Lights too small and too wide apart in my opinion. The front of your Mag 4 turbo looks better to me. But your bike and your build and probably better for that they don't all look the same !!

Tried some different size lights for a look see. We start with 4" then 4 1/2" and last one is 6".IMG_20230427_111929.thumb.jpg.f385a7c2d3b77e360fda569296f63686.jpg IMG_20230427_112510.thumb.jpg.fd907056361e970958f4988c531c78ae.jpg IMG_20230427_112933.thumb.jpg.400a040bc0f270a4e9a7d4b34950803b.jpg

Not my bike but as you asked....................I prefer the bigger headlights. Ultimately your decision, so just saying.

Coming along clive. You running 2 coolers. Or looking to get an intercooler in the mix?

Either way I love it.

No 1 plan, big cooler up front, intercooler above turbo and head cooler in seat unit.

No2 plan, head cooler up front with big cooler above turbo.

No 3 plan, big cooler above turbo with head cooler in seat unit.

Intercooler should give about 10hp more than if it didn't have one maybe more.

Goin to try some 5" spot lights but there not easy to find.

Two smaller lights under the cooler? Having the lights on top of the cooler makes them look too high to me, but that's just me. Each to their own and all that :)

I like that, and as you say it's something a bit different.

In the other post either the 4 1/2" or the 6" look OK to me. From the pictures I think it was the small lights with the big gap that made it look out of kilter. It didn't look bad before, it just didn't quite gel somehow.

What's your preference now you've tried a few set ups?

Slitting disc tin just happens to be 5" which is good for a mock-up, it's also the size wanted but there hard to find. Saying that though I've found some bottom mount thin 5" lights with high and low beams.IMG_20230428_142520.thumb.jpg.28cc85f3244b47aba29f219ea6e3b943.jpg

The two 5 inch lights look spot on ( no pun intended....probably:D) to me

Aesthetics are personal and if you want purely function that's one thing but getting the form to follow functionality is the hard part

Function is the most important to me. Aiming for 300hp with good handling as well, but it's a 30+ year old Spondon so I wanted it to look good as well.

2 of those 5" lights would do the trick. Maybe its the lack of mudguard thats throwing off how everything will sit?

I think if you stuck a load of lights on it would look like a load of lights with a motorcycle attached, just too much.

I always think with specials, and even more so trick frame specials, that these no need for anything 'showy', they should look like they are here to do a job.

Had to cut the grass, that meant moving the lawnmower so I was able to get Spondon number 10 out of the shed for a walk round for a look see.IMG_20230426_153133.thumb.jpg.86a68db4b5bbf0426391d0c716823307.jpg IMG_20230426_153108.thumb.jpg.b782fdf32d4c0153dacc7da159343c73.jpg IMG_20230426_153120.thumb.jpg.068a5c281da1a56284eb44b60cb70ade.jpg IMG_20230426_153212.thumb.jpg.a4c5af3bcab08e91705530f5f29665f0.jpg IMG_20230426_153158.thumb.jpg.3d673f11a1e5064300e2be47068fe71f.jpg IMG_20230426_153050.thumb.jpg.420493147bd81d19e02c5c99e96a0ed6.jpg
