Swiss Toni Posted July 28, 2020 Posted July 28, 2020 Is there anyone out there still making them? Quote
arnout Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 I learned today that Rene EFE makes lovely engine stands. The ones I saw had oil cooled engines fitted to them though, so not sure about any air cooled versions.. 1 Quote
Swiss Toni Posted July 30, 2020 Author Posted July 30, 2020 I'll have a scout about! It's for an 'Old Skool' mate, so 'Old Skool' he don't do 'puters! Quote
Rene EFE Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 I made some a while ago and actually gave @Captain Chaosone of mine just the other day. Easy job to do yourself tbh 2 Quote
gorbys Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 Would there be any benefit to making a backplate to this so you could mount it on a engine stand (for car engines) so it could be rotated for example? Quote
Swiss Toni Posted July 30, 2020 Author Posted July 30, 2020 Why not? If you haven't got a bench, it'll save your back! Quote
coombehouse Posted August 11, 2020 Posted August 11, 2020 Here's mine. It's the universal engine stand available everywhere with the front bit added so the engine can be rotated safely. Not hard to modify Quote

coombehouse Posted August 11, 2020 Posted August 11, 2020 Just now, Gixer1460 said: Very Posh! Thanks but I can't take credit for the design. I saw it on the net somewhere & decided to give it a go. Works well & will take any engine. The front part was made from some box section I had around, some ally angle & the shiny bit is cut from an old suspension strut off a car. The original stand was about £40. Well worth the effort. Quote
Wagola Posted August 11, 2020 Posted August 11, 2020 Hi, @Swiss Toni Not sure if this is the type of thing you're looking for ? https://www.Eblag.co.uk/itm/Fully-Adjustable-Engine-Stand-Cradle-Gurls blouse-Yamaha-Suzuki-Kawasaki-Etc/254226829138 Quote
Swiss Toni Posted August 11, 2020 Author Posted August 11, 2020 @WagolaHe’s sorted now, but thanks for the heads up! Quote

Any simple support is possible although a two bolt rear is required if you want it to sit anywhere near level. The supported back and front version makes it considerably easier to rotate and work on. The coombehouse solution is quite 'elegant' in a ghetto sort of way! Quote
