  1. After much wrenching, long hrs and customizing. The beast is almost done. Got the carb situation figured out, new battery, new seat, new drag style handle bars/ handgrips, removed old ugly mufflers, stripped marker lights, rear faring, mirrors, custom rear fender, lowering shocks, and all new hoses for the oil lines. Has come a long way from stock. Stock pic included for comparison.
  2. I've heard the Dunlop d404 is a good tire for the $$ but bad tread wear. What tire would you guys reccomend that won't break the bank?
  3. What is the widest back tire that will fit on a 1980 Suzuki GS1000. Its got 130/90-17 now. Or a good recommendation for a good sticky Tire because the Dunlop that's on it now is old and the rubber is pretty hard
  4. It's the copper looking piece that is inside the carburetor it is about an inch in diameter when you take the air filter off it is right there in the middle of the carburetor that moves up and down when you push it up it's very slow to move back down my problem is around 3/4 to Full Throttle it revs out really bad and you have to let back off of it I don't know what the problem is. 1980 Suzuki GS1000 with Factory kogyo carbs
  5. Hey guys I have a question at almost wide open throttle or even 3/4 throttle the bike revs really high and let off of it it's fine. Is that a float sticking or what is going on I had a friend of mine look at my carbs and he pushed up on one of the floats and the return back down to normal position was very slow he said that there's a week return spring is that true. If so what is a good carburetor rebuild kit that I can get because I got this bike at an auction and I don't know how long it's been since anything has been gone through and I want to freshen everything up
  6. I just figured a bigger stator would give me more voltage to the ignition system. Where can I get one for a decent price. Plus I don't believe that mine is charging my battery properly
  7. What's up fellas I own a 1980 Suzuki GS1000 bobber I've done a lot of custom work to it as far as Cosmetics. Changed the seat, lowered seat pan, Stripped all marker lights/signals off, cut rear fairing off, new tail lights new brake lights lowered it, removed highway bars, remove front fairing brackets, really haven't done anything towards the motor yet except cut off ugly/dangerous torpedo pipes. New interstate battery. I'm from St Joseph Missouri
  8. Looking for recommendations for a high output stator for my Suzuki GS1000
