Don't blame ya! It's too nice to move on!
  2. It's sculptured. A work of art! Even the colour's great. It's so understated! If ever there was a great example of 'less is more' ... that's it! Great find!
  3. Wellseal or blue Hylomar. Preferably Wellseal.
  4. Hey! Welcome to OSS! I also have a '78 750EC. Great bike!
  5. Nasty though! Glad to hear it wasn't any worse!
  6. Graham, if you're keeping the 'standard' look, your calipers should be a gold finish. Ford Harvest Gold's not a bad match.
  7. Powder more durable. Or strip, etch primer, and top coat satin black.
  8. If you order your spares via the website, there'll be a voucher/discount box near your basket. Enter 'OSS Discount' or by phone, just tell Michelle or Michael your OSS username. Simples!
  9. The differences in the clutch basket posts & spacers, was a factory mod to the later models. There was also a change to the big centre spacer (shorter, I think?), and there was a new thrust washer fitted. I also seem to remember, the shaped (sort of like a 'Bellvile') washer, at the bottom of the plate stack, was changed, and reversed!
  10. No! Vapour Blasting cleans, then closes the pores in the alloy. It looks better than new if done properly. I used to bead blast my old Triumph/BSA/Norton cases. The finish looked ok, but easily picked up dirty finger marks, until I found out that using a soft brass brush in the electric drill gave a nice satin sheen, which also closed the pores against dirt.
  11. It's a bit of a waste of money vapour blasting it, just to paint it. Either clean and paint the engine, or get it vapour blasted, and leave it as it is!
  12. I think there's a difference. 750's maybe smaller, different head angle? The reason folks build 7/11's !
  13. To all/any members who've fitted the std 1100ET/EX clocks and headlamp to std. 1200 Blandit front ends. Have you still got your templates/measurements that you can share? Easy way out, I know, but as the advert says ... 'Every little helps'!
  14. I've tried to find out if the two head applications are the same, bar the cams, for years. Still none the wiser! But ... I can't see the Japs casting two identical heads, the only difference being the inlet stub size and angle? They're more 'parts bin specialists' than the British bike industry! Were the GSXR/Teapot valve sizes the same too?
  15. Imageworks. Talk to Graham. 0115 944 3111. I got my GS750 decals from Vintage Decals, in Canada. Good quality.
  16. Bet you forgot about your 10% OSS discount!
  17. Use a GS500 sprocket carrier. That'll get you pretty close.
  18. 33's the mounting bracket. The lower case is #41 (34193-920)
  19. Quick look at 'Frankensteins Pages' Since the B6 and later 750R 90-91 have the same stroke, cylinder block dimension, and wrist pindiameter, the 90/91 block+pistons can be swapped with the B6 stuff (although you’ll have tocheck that the pistons don’t hit the head/valves).
  20. It'll fit. Might be slightly taller. Easier mod is fit 750 top end to B6 cases. Don't forget to tell your insurance company!
  21. Yeah! Maybe the microfische pictures aren't as accurate as they should be?
