bandit750 Posted May 30, 2018 Posted May 30, 2018 Credit due. You did your mate proud, the bike proud and the forum proud, very much in that order. People like you should get much more recognition. Quote
Bondy Posted September 20, 2018 Author Posted September 20, 2018 Havent updayed for ages now. So, ive covered iver 2000 miles since it’s MoT early April. I took it to the TT. Had an issue with the oil cooler but apart from that it went ok. Engine turns out to be good except smoking on overrun. So that will need sorting out at some stage. Major issue last Sunday. The bottom engine mount where the side stand assembly attaches to snapped. 6 Quote

Do you know, ive heard of 4 now that have snapped. I plan on re engineering the side stand mounting point. Maybe make a bracket that picks up on 3 or 4 positions. Do you have any details at all? Thanks. Quote

Zweihammer Posted September 29, 2018 Posted September 29, 2018 I hope nothing bad happened when the bracket snapped to this exceptional beauty. I hadn’t checked back on this since you first started. Fantastic work and tribute. Cheers, Zweihammer Quote

Hi @Bondymy Mag 4 has the same ailment with the side stand. Did you engineer a solution to yours ?? Lovely tribute build by the way, some great ideas that I may just nick when my own Mag 4 progresses. Quote
woodsy Posted September 6, 2023 Posted September 6, 2023 Hello Bondy! Very nice job of the 4! Where did you source the seat unit? I'm out in Australia and can't track one down! Spike at Ragged edge doesn't have a mould! Any help would be appreciated. Cheers, Roy. Quote
Dezza Posted September 6, 2023 Posted September 6, 2023 if you're on friendface then Gary is much more active on that than on here, Harris owners and aircooled suzuki club, so he tells me. The seat looks like a rotax style. Email harris and ask as these were supplied by harris with the mag 4 frame kits. Gary is best to contact directly though Quote
woodsy Posted September 6, 2023 Posted September 6, 2023 Thanks Dezza, Found one available from King Carbon, just waiting on the dreaded shipping quote. Quote
Fazz711 Posted September 7, 2023 Posted September 7, 2023 Got a quote for Harris Rotax recently and they want £170+ Vat Had one off then before and they are top quality but it was a bit to steep for me Quote
davecara Posted November 3, 2023 Posted November 3, 2023 Thought I'd give this a little bump because its an exceptional build, a stunning bike and a decent all round bloke 5 Quote

Bondy Posted December 23, 2023 Author Posted December 23, 2023 Evening all. Sorry, I don’t get on here much now. Must make the effort. So, yes. The seat is i deed a King Carbon one. Lee’s workshop is only down the road from me. He has all the Harris jigs, but i didn’t tell you that. :-) Merry Christmas all. Quote
Bondy Posted December 23, 2023 Author Posted December 23, 2023 Tried adding a newish pic above, but technology fails me. :-/ Bike is still going ok. Engine is the same still. Still smoke on over run. Clutch is a bit grabby now too. Swapped the RS38’s for the smaller 36’s. Much better. Much more responsive. the rest is still ok. 1 Quote
geogsxr Posted December 28, 2023 Posted December 28, 2023 Stunning bike and build, was reading an old performance bike's mag with your XR69 in it the other day, amazing builds. Well done Sir. G Quote
