bluedog59 Posted April 29, 2017 Posted April 29, 2017 I think your best option may be to find or make some new inlet manifolds that drop the carbs and maybe move them forward a little. Quote

fatblokeonbandit Posted April 30, 2017 Author Posted April 30, 2017 At the moment ive stuck it in the back of the garage until after Donnington next weekend, in the hope that whilst im away the Mikuni faries will have sorted it out but yes i think i will persever with the 1200.... Quote
fatblokeonbandit Posted May 1, 2017 Author Posted May 1, 2017 Ive seen them Baz but the measurements on the website put it still in contact with the frame, BUT I have a cunning plan!! onhold until next week 1 Quote

bluedog59 Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 Pedantic persistence pays off in the end. Better than a "that'll do" attitude. Well done. Quote
Fugly Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 Well done, they look good, so much better than squashing the others around the frame tubes. Quote

The main thing is they fit and look OK.... if they hadn't I was seriously considering getting a 750 with a 1100 head to move the carbs down, But anyway I can now crack on with the mounts and make them out of something shiny and do the chain run, then exhaust and fire it up,,, simples.... 1 Quote

Why do the carbs on a 750 head sit higher than on an 1100 head? Is it all 1100 heads or just a sub-set of all 1100/1200 engines? Quote
fatblokeonbandit Posted May 4, 2017 Author Posted May 4, 2017 The inlet tracts on 750's are much steeper, so the carbs sit higher, but the barrels are 13mm shorter so the carbs might bge about in the same place, but a shorter 750 with an 1100/1200 head with flatter inlets would lower the carbies quite a bit anyway all academic now Quote

fatblokeonbandit Posted May 11, 2017 Author Posted May 11, 2017 Just been out in the garage and had a good talk to myself, whats the risk of it being ready, or at least running by the classic bike track day at cadwell??? slight to slim, but if i can get all weekend in the garage it might just might be mobile by then?? 1 Quote
fatblokeonbandit Posted May 13, 2017 Author Posted May 13, 2017 (edited) had a few hours and tried the exhaust options, the full arrows 4-2-1 looks best but dosent fit as well as the Micron 4-1, So opinions please 4 into 1 or 4 into 2 into 1... obviously the arrows can is wayyyy to long................................. fatblokeonbandit Posted May 13, 2017 Author Posted May 13, 2017 Anyone know of 65mm hole centres spaced footrest hangers??? Quote
clivegto Posted May 13, 2017 Posted May 13, 2017 The arrow looks much nicer, closer to the engine & frame. Angle of the can is slightly bettor to. Quote
fatblokeonbandit Posted May 14, 2017 Author Posted May 14, 2017 Well the arrow pipes touch the harris down pipes whatever I do as they are 2mm bigger diameter, so ill use the 4-1 as i dont want to cut the arrows system about, its worth too much as it is 1 Quote
busa ash Posted May 14, 2017 Posted May 14, 2017 looking good with the 4/1 are you going too shorten the link pipe ? Quote
fatblokeonbandit Posted May 15, 2017 Author Posted May 15, 2017 looks like t will ahyve to be the 4-1 as the arrow will not sit right as it touches the front oil cooler banjos?? I wont cut that link pipe down i will probably get one made so it all sits better???? 1 Quote
