clivegto Posted November 2 Posted November 2 I appear to now be in the possession of a JMC frame one of 6 or maybe 7 in total made and only 3 like this one. 6 1/2 hour road trip and a lighter wallet but happy . 16 Quote

Dezza Posted November 3 Posted November 3 Details asap. What else came with it, e.g. the subframe and tank? Quote

I'd say you'd need either the EF or the 'busa. An oil boiler is neither your arse nor your elbow in that if you want max power it needs to be water cooled and if you want maximum it's got to be air cooled. Quote
Duckndive Posted November 3 Posted November 3 A Remnant from another Poorly managed co that were also full of 8ull5hit to customers Needs to have the Bus motor it was made for 1 Quote

I could get over 300hp with a oil boiler turbo and fuel injection without which would be the cheapest way to get big power and it will be a road bike so no need for more than that. No doubt you could get the power, but it really wouldn't be the cheapest way to do it even using SH parts and doing all the work yourself. You need way more to add 200 hp to an oil boiler than you do 100 to a water cooled lump. All the work to add 100 hp to a water cooled engine is external, and that's just turbo and ecu. To add 200 to an oil boiler it's pistons, rods, head work, case studs/bolts, adapt it for injection with all the sensors etc, add on the ecu and wiring, along with additional cooling for the induction as well as the engine itself, fuel pump and lines, additional oil lines. Then you still have to add the turbo on top as per the water cooled. Edited November 3 by imago Quote
clivegto Posted November 3 Author Posted November 3 Frame came with a JMC slabby swinging arm and the frame does have a 16mm swinging arm spindle the same as the slabbies but the suspension mounting points on the frame are different to the 750 and 1100 frames although close to the 1100 only been 5mm different. I do have a couple of other JMC arms but I would like a underrated one with drag slots. We like pictures 2 Quote

Busa motors start at £2200 and the parts to boost them are twice the price of oil boiler stuff. Although I do have a Busa sat doing nothing at the moment Edited November 3 by clivegto 3 Quote
imago Posted November 3 Posted November 3 2 minutes ago, clivegto said: I already have a everything to boost an oil boiler including spare engines. That's cheating! Fair enough, shall we qualify the statements by saying that it's cheaper for you to build a 300 hp oil boiler? As for the WC prices, I've been keeping an eye on WC stuff for the RF plan. You can get an entire K5 on GSXR1000 for £1,500 from MotoMine. That's 180 hp straight out of the box, and ditching the exhaust for a turbo set up plus the ECU flash or swap takes you to 200. The stuff you don't need can be sold to bring that cost down to say £1,000, with the turbo stuff taking it back up to say £1,800. Call it £2k for a round number. So starting from nothing (as people without a stash you'd need a warehouse for would have to) there's no way on earth you'd build a 300 hp oil cooled engine for £2k. Quote
