What measurement do you have from the lever pivot bolt to the cable nipple centre/centre? There are clutch lever assemblies available down to 24mm, they use more lever travel but do give a much lighter feel.

28mm

If you have enough reserve travel TWM make a 26mm assy or Accossato make one in 24mm.

I'll see how I get on with a longer cover arm first, but thanks for the info :tu

just knocked this up, bit crude but its just for testing, it will go on the way it sits in the pic (upside down) as the cable will be bent up otherwise.  cost me nothing so nothing lost if it doesn't work.  not gona get chance to fit and test it for a while though :/

Just noticed that webike Japan do a couple of different clutch release arms in different lengths with adjustment holes. Not overly expensive though that's without the shipping & customs charges.

that would help keeping the cable in line :tu i managed to get out on the bike yesterday and with what ive done so far has made a difference, still heavier than an oil cooled clutch but better than it was.

update,  finally got round to fitting the home made clutch arm, and its made a big difference. i can now pull the clutch with 2 fingers but better with 4 :D really happy with it as I was thinking of changing the engine or selling the bike as it was pretty painful.  but now its a joy to ride just need some warmer weather now 9_9  will make or buy a better looking arm at some point.

got an old gear lever and cut it down, had to flatten it a bit but looks better than the bodgy one i made. 55mm hole centres if anyone is interested. the only drawback is i have no freeplay at the clutch lever to stop the drag but no slip when wound on.

Hi

that with the slightly longer lever really works???

I once addressed the same problem in a Suzi forum, because someone said that it didn't work because the path was too long or something similar... some kind of physics stuff with levers... :S

I've been toying with the part of https:// for a long time.   www.webike.de/products/21416335.html

Cheers

thats a nice bit of kit :tu but way to expensive i think !!!  mine was free but not as trick. i find pulling the clutch lever near the end also helps, still not as light as other bikes but a big improvement.
