coombehouse Posted June 28, 2022 Posted June 28, 2022 Hopefully it's ok to ask this. I have a complete front end that I don't need from a low mileage gsx1100ez in really good condition. Forks tubes are nice with no scratches or pits. They probably won't be of much interest to anyone on here though I will advertise them here first but I have no idea of their value to someone who may want to keep their bike original. Any suggestions as to a fair price please. Quote
imago Posted June 28, 2022 Posted June 28, 2022 Roughly speaking, for bike restoration spares (not just Suzuki) the front end is around 1/3 to 1/2 the value of an engine for the same bike. No idea why that is BTW. 1 Quote
Isleoman Posted June 28, 2022 Posted June 28, 2022 In the States they sell for between $150 and $200 for the forks and triple tree. Just like the UK there isn't much demand for RSU forks. Quote
TonyGee Posted June 28, 2022 Posted June 28, 2022 if they are the ones with the antidive then no one will want them unless someone is doing a resto. ive got a set i dont want. 1 Quote

The Kat antidive units seem to be worth quite a bit in Australia. But then stock Kats sell for crazy money over there. Quote

A lot of bikes are climbing in value if they're original. So any of the bits that were taken off and chucked over the hedge back in the day are also climbing in value. Quote
Pudzrx Posted June 29, 2022 Posted June 29, 2022 Stick them on Eblag with a 50 quid starting price and see where they go , the market will decide , or stick them on here for 200 or offers and see what you get 1 Quote
Captain Chaos Posted June 29, 2022 Posted June 29, 2022 I'm surprised nobody mentioned the true OSS way yet. Buy another 1100EZ frame/project bike/basket case and build it up. You already have the front end 4 Quote

I wouldn't want an ez with standard wheels & brakes which is how I came to have them surplus to requirements in the first place. Quote
Pudzrx Posted June 29, 2022 Posted June 29, 2022 Can you measure the length of them , mine seems to sit very low on the front on stock suspension compared to other kats Quote

wraith Posted June 30, 2022 Posted June 30, 2022 Had the old standard ones off my kat, ended up, putting them up for £30 on that site but nobody wanted them so they went to the tip. 1 Quote

This ^ I’ve been watching spares / parts for quite a while and whilst big Suzuki IL4 stuff has always had some value it’s certainly a bit salty now. Demand and prices climbed and held strong. I’ve looked for front ends but they are never cheap or local anymore. Quote
