Highwaystar Posted March 29, 2021 Posted March 29, 2021 I am wanting to raise the rear by at least an inch. Does anyone know how far you can actually go with this mod and is the best method for this to simply source longer/ shocks. 2 Quote
R1guy Posted March 29, 2021 Posted March 29, 2021 (edited) Welcome! Nice bike- any better pics? Gurls blouse cb900f rear shocks are 360mm eye to eye as aposed to yours (320ish mm) and will fit if you file the bush on the swingarm down by a mm or so. Not sure how far you can go- but you could work it out using a piece of bar/timber to mock up max shock length before chain fouls. Edited March 29, 2021 by R1guy Quote
Blubber Posted March 29, 2021 Posted March 29, 2021 Have you trick more dense foam or adding foam to the seat? Might be another method of raising the ride height Quote
Highwaystar Posted March 29, 2021 Author Posted March 29, 2021 Thanks but I'm just wanting to add more rear ride height for the look to make it sit higher at back, also going to be adding some tarozzi rearsets unless anyone knows of a more modern set that can easily be adapted to fit. 4 Quote

Yss do new ones that get good ratings and have adjustability. It just means you can go longer without bespoke shocks. Quote
TonyGee Posted March 29, 2021 Posted March 29, 2021 ive used them cheap Chinese RFY piggy back shocks twice now, OK they are not the best but they do a job and all for £40. plus they are height adjustable and if they are no good you havn't lost a fortune this is them on my inazuma project. 1 Quote
johnr Posted March 29, 2021 Posted March 29, 2021 or you could keep the shocks that you have and use these. no idea where you get them from though these were on when i got it. 2 Quote
mkoppeser Posted March 30, 2021 Posted March 30, 2021 Hagon makes a nice period correct shock that's economical and made to order in a range of lengths and sprung specific the the bike's and your weight....and they're manufactured in the UK. 2 Quote
vizman Posted March 30, 2021 Posted March 30, 2021 I wouldn’t use those cheap Chinese Eblag specials or those adda-brackets on something as sweet as that gs, buy some decent shocks for it. 2 Quote
Highwaystar Posted March 30, 2021 Author Posted March 30, 2021 Its got the ikon/koni dial a ride on now so will be looking for a longer set of similar quality Quote
johnr Posted March 30, 2021 Posted March 30, 2021 Brackets are the same as katanamangler has on his kat. Quote
vizman Posted March 31, 2021 Posted March 31, 2021 Two things wrong with Scott’s Kat, them add-a-brackets are/were one of them Quote

Dezza Posted April 1, 2021 Posted April 1, 2021 (edited) I have a set of 40 quid Chinese chrome shocks on an old 100cc Yamaha I restored and they are fine. They are very good DT replicas but the originals weren't exactly of motocross GP standard. Personally, I wouldn't fit cheapo shocks to anything faster / heavier as they are basic to say the least but then again so were OEM shocks on OSS bikes. Edited April 1, 2021 by Dezza Quote

Swingarm is a cal-fab California fabrications. They were big in the 80s making parts for the AMA riders. They went under but now been resurrected by the guy who also made my exhaust , Chris at Motogp werks. You can check them out on Facebook Quote
gshub Posted April 3, 2021 Posted April 3, 2021 Just wondering why You want to raise the Ride height?. Quote
