Trip over to Cadwell today,few technical problems with the bike stuck in 3rd gear ,stopped in a garage and found the pinch bolt was loose on the gear linkage and it had jammed the gear change solid,trusty Suzuki tool kit and got it sorted

Had a spare ten minutes so stuck the engine back in ,torqued up the bolts and paint marked so I don’t forget which ones I’ve already done

Torqued the front end ,refitted the mudguard,clocks secured and a few other odd jobs done,been a few weeks without much progress but rather ride when the weathers nice than spend time in the shed

My Haynes manual says for 1989 model SAE 5 oil 418cc and the level is 146mm 1990 Gsxr1100 use SAE5 oil and 415cc,the level says 145mm(5.71 “) Hope this is what you need

Got them in my RGV forks,YSS make them, they regulate oil transfer through the forks under braking and the like and are a cheaper option to sort traditional forks feeling of bottoming out, they make them behave a bit more modern.They offer modern shim and valve type operation.Feel much better. @gsxr884can supply them to They look like this and drop into the fork bottoms. Other more knowledgeable folk will provide more info I'm sure,I'm about to fit some into my slabbie next, so I can say I'm impressed.

Did a few bits and bobs before I had to collect my granddaughter. Seat sub frame and clock frame back on,routed rear cables pipes etc.Fitted the oil tank and expansion tank ,once the front and rear ends are sorted,the engine can go back in.Then I just need to save for a rear shock and replacement rad ....

Donington used to be ride by testing,rather than static,it always makes me laugh that they have noise restrictions when it’s next to the pissing airport ,that’s the local council for you.....
