  1. It’s all about sharing info no experts on here we all know bits of everything,I don’t think having them the wrong way makes much if any difference
  2. Here’s my shillings worth and just to confuse matters the domed end should fit to the frame although probably doesn’t make much difference. Attached airbox drawing and photo for reference.
  3. RGV or slabby available if you need them
  4. Welcome there are plenty of folk on here who will be able to give tech help or just advise or experience when it comes to slabbies
  5. Another weekend another leak, stripped off the housing for the thermostat again and dismantled it gave it another clean, stuck in a new thermostat while it was off, bolted up and refitted.Maybe this time I’ve managed to sort it.
  6. Another 40 miles today leak seems fixed ,just need to finish running the motor in
  7. O ring and new bolts arrived today fitted just need to test for leaks, found the replacement tank rubber I thought I’d lost so stuck that on to
  8. It was one of the few jobs that I thought didn’t need doing when I rebuilt it,tried to save a few quid ,oh well this is why we own these old things so we can tinker with them
  9. Sun out today so got up and uncovered the old girl ready for a blast and found a nice pool of coolant underneath . Tank, side panels etc off and it’s a bit more than a weep, thermostat housing is leaking like a good un,stripped it down and it’s only a perished o ring, checked my spares and I don’t have one,so looks like I’ll have to order a new one and fit it next weekend. Reset the throttle valve gaps while the tank was off and sorted a few bits that were loose after the ride yesterday. Forgot how 2 smokes need a bit more TLC than the old oil boiler, still she was on the road for a whole 24 hours
  10. Mot pass no advisories, then rode to Darley Moor to watch a track day, done about 70 miles just need to few more to run the top end in Back on the road after 3 long years
  11. It sounds ace if I wasn’t such a retard I’d post a video but don’t know how to
  12. Fairings back on had to bodge fit a bit of it with some old bolts can’t find the new ones I thought I bought Ready for mot in the morning now fingers crossed
  13. Home early doing last minute MOT prep for tomorrow and fitted these while I waited for the engine to heat cycle to check for a small leak I think I’ve fixed, hopefully
  14. I here ya will get them fitted when I’m home at the weekend
  15. Thanks @Captain Chaosstickers arrived today
  16. Bled up the back brake adjusted the gear linkage then a quick run up the road and back today just to see if all’s ok,as the MOT is booked for Friday. Wont really pull low down and gets bogged down at low revs, think it needs a few miles on it before I start jetting for the pipe, plus may still need a zeeltronic to get the power valves dialled in properly. Mot pass first then some miles to run in the top end and the brakes then I’ll start fine tuning
  17. Were you marshalling at the classic TT thought I saw you on your other bike
  18. On the last few jobs now, new cushion rubbers for the speedo, headlight seal ,top fairing, screen and indicators back on. Derusted fuel tank back on today to,stuck 5 litres of fuel in to check for leaks and thought sod it let’s see if she starts,3 kicks and ring a ding ding Got some tick over and sticking at revs issues to sort but shouldn’t be to difficult to sort. If the rain holds off tomorrow then I’ll bleed up the brakes, then a quick road test maybe.
  19. Cheers Dezza,it’s a typo should have read ACF
  20. This arrived today so got it fitted, bolts torqued and chain adjusted .Stuck some new grips on and refitted the hugger, gave it a coat of ACF just to bring out the shine on the old plastic.
  21. Gutted for you Jim better luck for next year, hope to be there to cheer you on once again
  22. Arrived cold and wet ready for the Manx
  23. Drained the water out today and added the coolant, ran a litre of fuel through the carbs to get the engine nice and hot,all seems ok. Airbox refitted with new filter, stuck the seat unit back on to,list is getting shorter, could be back on the road before the autumn at this rate.
