Hi, revamping a GS1000. Can I remove the rear battery box bracket without getting frame stiffness problems?

Disassemble, painting, polishing, overhauling. But I'll keep it in original state. So.. no cutting, welding, grinding..

My Kat is an original GSX1100 SE imported from Japan and I want the original paint back on it. I think it's the color combination 86Y but not sure. Can't find the code at the internet yet... FOUND IT: http://www.gs-classic.de/download/Suzuki-Farbcode.pdf Look for the GSX1100S Katana 1983. It says 49T&49V, Dark royal red & Light royal grey. So now for the striping... EDIT: this site http://www.gsx-s.com/katana/keifu.htm says something else...: Two tone (red / silver) with black engine. 13L Bright Silver Metallic + 00J Candy Gypsy Red. GS110X-541309~ :-)

Hi, I was a member of the old site and just found the new site again. Had a GS850, GS1000 and I still have my Katana and will never sell this one. I've got my eyes on a GSX1100EFE.... and think I need information about this bike after bying it. So become a member of this site is a good start.
