Wheels in ready for tomorrow

Rear brake bled up,wheels back from having the tyres fitted,stuck some new disc bolts in for good measure,just need to swap the wheels over tomorrow then she’s ready for Newark

Started stripping and cleaning the carbs today a nice job sat in the house while having a beer

Getting her ready for Newark in a couple of weeks New bearings in the good wheels,tyres being fitted tomorrow,replaced the non working rhs switch gear with a cheap second hand one of the bay of e,junked the crap onda racing reservoir and put the Suzuki one back on after fitting a master cylinder repair kit,should have known better than buying HRC...... Still need to bleed the rear brake and swap the wheels over bits that’s a job for another day as I feel a beer calling me

Cheers good tip as it was a bastard to get them off today ,is it worth getting a QA throttle or is this a waste of cash

Carbs off ready for a clean need to knock a few jobs off the list while I’m off work,will be getting some new cables as these ones are well knackered

Think they’re mk1’s but haven’t checked yet as it’s too dark in the shed to see tonight. The first track day will be at darley moor as it’s local just as a shake down after the winter,then will try to do Donny and Cadwell as well before the series gets to them,I’ll be wobbling round anyway getting in peoples way at first I’m sure

Not much when it comes to mods,standard airbox, free jetting but no other carb stuff,after market exhaust with same bore as original noise limit 105db.Original wheels etc etc.The exhaust system is a brand new delkevic so I need to do a few track days when I’ve got the bike prepped just to see how it performs.

Thought I should start the build thread early on...... as at 50 plus I’ve decided to go racing next season..... already joined a race club and signed up for my ACU course next Feb. Off up North Saturday to pick up a cheap blandit track bike that I plan to make race ready for next March,thanks already to @fatblokeonbanditand @Markz9 for their advice and support,I will post pics as I go and try to keep it interesting,wanted to race my slabbie but can’t bring myself to convert her yet so will try my hand first season on a blandit and see how I go from there

Like it, thats different, is it a 21 motor? whats the plans for routing the water pump hoses? -
Rode the smoker a fair bit now so engine is run in ,still some issues to sort,not feeling quite right and the power valves need a programmer to fine tune the curve so bit the bullet today and ordered a zeeltronic Back brake needs sorting as well ,needs repainting as I spilt brake fluid on it and missed cleaning it off so it’s now stripped itself Wheels back from powder coaters to so need to fit the running gear and new bearings then stick the some rubber on them . Just a few last jobs before the winter arrives.

Time to sort the crappy brakes and front end so forks are coming out and the brakes need a fettle, want to get this sorted before track day season next year. Got some spare slingshot wheels so plan to stick them in with some modern rubber to see if that sorts the handling, tedancy to wallow through corners. Also got some spare Nissin callipers off a slingshot that I might rebuild and fit with some newer discs Will keep the original wheels for road use and the odd ride out in the summer, that's the plan anyway....upgrades on the cheap

Even with the low compression and need for a rebuild over the winter, she passed the MOT again no advisories even the slightly baffled drag pipe was ok, took some starting though as I haven't run her since July. Time to start a list of jobs for the off season depending on funds..
