do the mod as described in the link I posted. Costs almost nothing. If the wiring has resistance (very likely for a 25 year old bike) a new generator is not going to help.

if you've only loosened banjo bolts near the handlebars and nothing near the calipers, you will have no need to bleed them since air goes up in brake fluid. So all the air is near the top. DON'T pump the brakes after assembly because you will force the air down. As Markfoggy says just push the pistons back in the calipers and the air bubbles will appear in the master cilinder reservoir.
yes but swingarm lengths are always with the wheel spindle in the most forward position. But you'd better measure to be sure since Suzuki press info is not always accurate. Like the 1100K production model being significantly different from the pre-production models which the press got in 1988.
