Thanks for your comments. When the shock was put in everything rear end was either greased or replaced so Im quite happy all is good there. Front end - as the seals are still ok Ive never really checked the forks but I do know that all the necessary bearings are ok. Tyres are ok pressure wise, they have about 1000 miles on them and they are BT45's. So maybe a look at the forks and to try the sag settings.
I dont really have any figures as such, I have just tried to get the front and back returning at roughly the same rate. That said if I put any more than one click more than the softest setting of the front forks the riding gets even worse. As for how fat ahem........ the wife would prob argue that but I am 13st @ 5'7 (does that make me fat? )
Hi there, fitted a new shock to my gsx 750 f (03) a while back now, but the ride feels very bouncy or choppy - see saw like over bumps.
Still not great either two up. Im looking for a place to start to try and fix because it has to handle better that it is at the moment.
any help good.

No the faring was ok. The risers I fitted are offset (they came from a triumph tiger) and I have them more towards me, maybe that helped avoid any fairing changes. Rode to work today and they work really well. Only slight thing is the mirrors dont work just as well now but there are always options to sort that out. A good choice if like me and suffering from T.M.B. syndrome and all those injuries from the LC days are coming back to haunt you.
Hey folks thanks for all your help, I have a front brake now. Bled up the way from the brake caliper that the bleed nipple is free. It locks the front wheel ok so hopefully it will all be good. Ferg
Hi there, just finished my first winter project. Good job its not snowing yet as I will get to try it to work tomorrow. Made my own plates for mountings, borrowed handlebars from another bike, Triumph bar risers. Hopefully a good job.
Ok thanks will try that. With changing the bars im not 100% sure the pipe from the split joint to the master cylinder will be long enough. Will be having another look at it tonight hopefully.
Argh, its the old problem. How the flip do I loosen a bleed nipple that refuses to loosen. Drop of heat n wd later and its still more rooted than a 300 yr old oak! Been changing the bars on my 750 teapot to straight bars and right at the end there is an obstacle to slooooowwww you away down. Any ideas before i hear the dreaded snap? thanks ferg
