  1. 2 years ago I bought a GSXR 1100 engine with the intent of rebuilding it as a spare for my B12. Seller thought it was stock. Yesterday was going to make some PAIR block off plates for the Bandit, went out to measure the ports on the GSXR engine and it doesn't have any, they're molded into the block, but not all the way through. That's odd I says to myself. Check the displacement volume on the block and it says 1270cc......Well well well. Suzuki didn't make any 1270cc oil boilers, so I'm assuming this is a big block. Anybody know who made 1270 blocks? What else should I look for, obviously it isn't a stock engine. What else could I check to see how modified this engine is? PS I know GSXR110 and B12 engines aren't exactly the same, heads and clutch I think, but it'll fit into the B12 frame and plug into the CDI and run, that's why I bought it. Function oil boilers are rare here in eastern Canada.
  2. real wheel bearings.....working on them right now, heat gun died, time for the propane torch
  3. I've heard a clunk while taking off, at first I though it was shock linkages, but then noticed it was repetitive. Thought maybe the drive sprocket nut had worked off, but not that. can't find anything out of the norm in the drive live. I'm dreading that it's internal. Only happens from a stop though, not deceleration or at constant speed, or roll on either for that matter. How loud it is depends on how much load the bike is under, flat ground, quiet clunk, uphill loud clunk, but it's only when starting out, it has a frequency that sound like it's drive related. can anyone help? Feels like it;s down by my right foot, almost like chain lash hitting the inside of the frame or something, but chain is fine
  4. they knew the exact dimensions of the bobbins need for the Bandit and the ones they make are smaller by two mm, they also suggested getting the rotors skimmed down because apparently warring is very uncommon what usually happens is the disc its mounted improperly and it cause a thin spot to wear on the dice which causes the pulsating. I could ge them skimmed down at work if I needed too, have to look into it. may also look into getting some bobbins made.
  5. heard back from them, they don't make bobbins to fit '05 Bandits and have no plans to, not enough demand they say. Any body got a set of take off stock bandit rotors?

    well I'm in Canada, but it's a 2005 bandit 1200
  7. Ok, bare with me, I know it's a blandit and I expect I'll get flack for it, but I do have a '82 GSX 1100 and an '89 GSXR1100 as well, but this'uns about the Blandit. The B12 I bought came with a cool feature, pulsing front brakes. I know it's a warped rotor, I also know that new ones cost over $300, a piece. I've already tried oil boiler GSXR rotors and the offset is different enough that they won't work. Now, I remember seeing on the old site that someone had some grommets made up and swapped the rotor part itself and used the old carrier, all held together with the grommets and some snap rings. Is this a kit that is available, and if so where would one order such a thing. I imagine it's cheaper that $600 for new rotors.
  8. the only bikes I've ever heard of having something like this are the top flight race reps, they've all got the anti-wheeleing, traction control, ABS all that jazz. Don't think that kind of tech was around back in aught five when the last of the B12s came out, sounds to me like someone has been feeding poor old Venom a load of crap. There's nothing mentioned in the Suzuki shop manual I have at home

Does anyone know if you can send off to Suzuki for a new set of keys. The new to me B12 only has one, and it's not in great shape, I;d like to keep the ignition, fuel cap and seat lock all a one key affair rather the having two keys rattling around. I once heard that a dealer could send in for keys to match your VIN, wondering if that was correct?
  11. I wonder if there is a difference between North America and England because I pick up an 89 that has USD forks as well, not in the shape this is, but still an '89.... by the way, Hi George, this is Jordan
  12. excellent, thank you very much gentlemen, now to figure out a front end swap.
  13. outside I guess, just need to know if I can bolt the GSXR engine into the B12 frame using all the stock mounts and spacers, and mate it up to the stock inake and exhaust with no major surgery.
