  1. and Suzukis are famous for eating spark plugs when trying to start with a battery which is not 100%. Be sure to charge it properly before starting, and with new spark plugs if possible.
  2. first of all make sure the float needles are not leaking. I have an original Suzuki GSX-R750L service manual at home, can post any specs you need this evening.
  3. whatever you do, post some pics on here. We like pics.
  4. like on all old Suzuki's the electrical system is a bit weak, and another famous "EFE" problem is the frame rusting near the sidestand.
  5. The 1135cc GSX1100 is officially called GSX1100E (naked), GSX1100ES (half faired) and GSX1100EF (fully faired). Added to one of these names is a letter E (1984), F (1985) or G (1986). So an 1100EG is a naked one from 1986. Everybody calls these bikes EFE but an EFE is actually a 1984 fully faired one.
  6. if you have the spindle, you will find out it only fits one way. I think the one on the left in your pics is where the nut goes. And the nut is at the sprocket side from the factory.
  7. first thing I would do is remove the spark plugs to have a look which ones are wet / black / normal
  8. Linky no worky (no permission to view it)
  9. There's only one way to find out. And since you're volunteering....
  10. I am sure you can not post it on here.
  11. GU means it's a Slabby, so it's a G/H/J model
  12. Pies are always good. Almost as good as more cubes.
  13. I was joking. If the bearings are fine, they will still be fine with a 1216cc kit (if you reassemble the engine correctly of course).
  14. then you will need new crankshaft bearings.
  15. I have no experience with these watercooled things, but I expect @Kristjan to be along soon and enlighten us
  16. just give the fucker away and be done with it
  17. and you can borrow it to other people
  18. He asks in the wet section so I guess he means a watermelon
  19. yes a lot of info there. Select your bike and find out all the stuff that fits, and things like fork oil amount, valve clearances, etc. https://www.louis.de/en/rund-ums-motorrad/bike-datenbank/suzuki-gsx-r-1100-modell-k/gv73c-k/0800
  20. I use this one: https://www.louis.de/artikel/gabeldichtringeintreiber-verschiedene-groessen/10003457?filter_article_number=10003465 Available in different sizes, from Louis in Germany, but I'm sure someone on here will tell you where to buy in the UK.
  21. you can buy the tool for around 20 euros here, but yes it's a bit expensive for one time. If you're really careful you can push the bush and seal in place with a hammer and a screwdriver. But it's easy to f*ck up and you don't want to be found by a friend or a neighbour doing it so lock the door before you start. I use Valvoline Fork oil 10W.
  22. Oh yes make sure you have enough rags / towels available, fork oil will end up everywhere and it smells when it's old.
